# Bookodile vs GlossGenius

> GlossGenius is an app-first booking and payments system sold only in the United States, with its own card processing and three tiered plans. Bookodile takes no payments, but it has a free plan, every feature on every account except SMS, booking spots instead of tiers, and booking pages in 17 languages.

## [Bookodile or GlossGenius: what matters most](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#game-changers)

| Bookodile | GlossGenius |
|---|---|
| **[A free plan, not a trial — with every feature](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#game-changer-every-feature-on-a-free-account)** — Start free and stay free: one location, two booking spots, 40 bookings a month, and every feature and add-on, the website and AI Chat included. Only SMS need a paid plan, because each one is billed. | **No** ([A free plan that stays free](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#free-tier)) — No free plan: a 14-day trial of Gold, and the account locks until a card is added. |
| **[A website you build with AI — on your own domain, free](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#game-changer-a-website-you-build-by-asking)** — Tell AI Chat what you want and it builds your website with you. The first draft comes in moments, made from your services, prices, team, hours and reviews, in a design you choose. Then just say what to change: “make it feel warmer”, “bring over the words from my old site”, “rewrite our About text”. Photo galleries sort into categories you name, and a category linked to a service gets its own Book button. Prices and opening hours stay in step with your bookings. Your own domain connects at no cost, and nothing goes public until you publish. | **Partly** ([A website for your business](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#website)) — The booking site itself, from template themes (premium ones on Gold and up) with no AI; a domain of your own can only forward to the glossgenius.com address. |
| **[AI Chat — an AI assistant that helps with everything you need](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#game-changer-an-assistant-that-does-the-administration)** — Ask in your own words, typed or spoken, and AI Chat does the work. It sets up services, prices, the team and opening hours. It writes your bios and service descriptions and builds your website. It blocks out a holiday and hands those bookings to a colleague, moves bookings, and tells you what tomorrow holds and who changed what. Every change comes with Undo, in every account, the free one included. | **Partly** ([An AI assistant that sets up and runs your account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#ai-assistant)) — Reception books, moves and cancels for customers on calls and texts — free until 30 November 2026, then $50 a month — and other AI answers about figures or writes; none changes your settings or site. |
| **[Two people, one visit — each blocked only for their part](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#game-changer-two-people-one-visit)** — A visit can give each part its own team member, time and room, back to back. Each person is blocked only for their own part, and your team moves the whole visit in one step. | **Partly** ([Back-to-back services with different team members](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#multi-staff-sequential)) — Up to three professionals in one booking, but each is a separate appointment that can't be moved or cancelled together. |

## [About GlossGenius](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#about)

- Website: https://glossgenius.com
- Headquarters: New York, New York, United States
- Built for: Independent professionals and small teams in beauty, wellness, medical aesthetics, health and fitness — the industry list on its pricing page runs from hair, nails and lashes through massage, physical therapy, yoga and personal training
- Markets: United States and Puerto Rico only, in English, priced in US dollars

## [What GlossGenius charges](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#pricing)

One flat fee per business account, monthly or yearly, in US dollars, and only for businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico. Standard is $28 a month or $24 a month paid yearly, Gold is $56 or $48, Platinum is $168 or $148, and two Practice plans with charting are $168 or $148 and $298 or $248. The fee is not per person, but each plan carries a headcount: Standard allows one extra member and only in the Accountant role, Gold allows nine, Platinum has no cap — so the first person who takes bookings beside you means Gold, and the tenth means Platinum. Each extra location is billed on top: the pricing page says each one 'is charged the plan price, at a 15% discount', and the multi-location guide lists the amount per plan. Card processing runs through GlossGenius itself: 2.4% + 15¢ for a card tapped, dipped or swiped, and 3.4% + 15¢ for a card on file, online or keyed in. Reception, the AI receptionist, is a $50-a-month add-on on every plan once its free period ends on 30 November 2026. There is no free plan; the 14-day trial runs on Gold without a card, and the account is locked when it ends until a card is added. Accounts opened before 3 September 2025 keep the older monthly rates. GlossGenius's own pages disagree in places: the yearly saving on the two Practice plans is 14% and 12% on the pricing page but 12% and 17% in the help centre, and multiple-provider booking is left off Standard in the pricing page's plan table and in the feature articles but ticked on every plan in the help centre's plan comparison.

| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard, monthly | $28 | Per business account, per month; one extra member, in the Accountant role only |
| Standard, yearly | $24 | Per month, billed annually |
| Gold, monthly | $56 | Per month; teams of up to nine |
| Gold, yearly | $48 | Per month, billed annually |
| Platinum, monthly | $168 | Per month; no team cap |
| Platinum, yearly | $148 | Per month, billed annually |
| Practice Essentials | $168 | Per month, or $148 billed annually; adds charting |
| Practice Advanced | $298 | Per month, or $248 billed annually |
| Each extra location | $24 / $48 / $143 | Per month on Standard / Gold / Platinum, or $20 / $41 / $126 billed annually; $143 or $126 on Practice Essentials and $253 or $211 on Practice Advanced, per the multi-location guide. The pricing page: each additional location 'is charged the plan price, at a 15% discount' |
| Card processing | 2.4% + 15¢ | Tap, dip or swipe, when the business pays the fee; 3.4% + 15¢ for a card on file, online or key-in; 2.9% + 30¢ on invoices; or the business pays 1% or 0% and the customer a 2.5% or 3.5% technology fee. Instant payouts add 1.8% |
| Reception (AI receptionist) | $50 | Per month, an add-on on every plan once the free period ends on 30 November 2026 (31 December for beta members): 100 voice minutes and 200 messages, then $0.50 a minute and $0.05 a message. Single-location businesses only, per the Reception help article |
| Payroll | $40 | Per month, plus $6 per seat paid that month |
| Text-marketing credits | $4.99 | For 100 credits above the plan allowance; 250 for $7.99, 500 for $11.99, per the text-marketing credits article |

## What Bookodile charges

A base rate per location plus a rate per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, in country bands. Every feature and add-on is included at every price, there is no commission, and it is free at one location with up to two active spots and 40 bookings a month. The one thing billed by use is SMS: they need a paid plan and are billed per SMS on its invoice, capped each month. The figures live on one page so they cannot drift: https://bookodile.com/pricing — and the model is explained at https://bookodile.com/docs/what-bookodile-costs.

## [Why businesses switch from GlossGenius](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#why-switch)

- **[No tier to climb when you hire, and a plan that is actually free](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-no-tier-to-climb-when-you-hire-and-a-plan-that-is-actually-free)** — GlossGenius's Standard plan allows one extra member, in the Accountant role only, so the first person who takes bookings beside you means Gold, and the tenth means Platinum; there is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Bookodile has no tiers. Beyond a base rate per location, the bill follows the booking spots that took a booking that month, anyone who takes no bookings costs nothing, and a business at one location with up to two active spots and up to 40 bookings a month is free for as long as that holds.
- **[Every feature on every account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-every-feature-on-every-account)** — On GlossGenius, forms and waivers, the waiting list, Reserve with Google, rooms and resources and custom roles all start at Gold, and so do the booking website's premium themes, colour palettes and fonts and its team members' photos and bios — while a domain of your own can only forward to the glossgenius.com address. Bookodile has one plan: every account, including a free one, has every feature and every add-on — SMS aside, which need a paid plan — and a website with your team on it, which a domain you already own connects to at no cost.
- **[Two people, one visit, one booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-two-people-one-visit-one-booking)** — GlossGenius's multi-professional booking is a bundle of up to three separate appointments, created only on the booking site: it cannot be rescheduled or cancelled as one, each part is checked out on its own, and one failed deposit fails the lot. A Bookodile combo is one booking with a stage per person, each with its own duration and its own room, each person blocked only for their stage, booked once and cancelled once — and staff move the whole visit in one step, with the times that fit everyone in it shown first, as the customer can from the link in their email.
- **[Classes with a capacity](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-classes-with-a-capacity)** — GlossGenius's help centre says there is no dedicated feature for classes, and its workaround is a hidden service with one appointment per attendee. Bookodile has events with a capacity and a registration list, and a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops.
- **[A room can be the thing that is booked](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-a-room-can-be-the-thing-that-is-booked)** — In GlossGenius a resource is attached to a service on Gold and Platinum and checked beside the person; the customer never sees it, and its help centre does not describe a resource with a capacity above one or a booking with a resource and no person. In Bookodile a service can need a room alone, a person alone, or both, every resource has a capacity and its own hours, and the capacity is enforced when the booking is made.
- **[Sold outside the United States, in 17 languages](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reason-sold-outside-the-united-states-in-four-languages)** — GlossGenius is available only to businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, its app is not in other countries' stores, and everything a customer reads is English. Bookodile is priced by country band, and its booking page reads in 17 languages, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese among them, with up to eight per location and a switch for the customer, set separately from the language the owner reads the dashboard in. Its wording beyond English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese was written by AI and has not yet been read by a native speaker.

### [Pricing](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-pricing)

| | Bookodile | GlossGenius |
|---|---|---|
| [A free plan that stays free](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#free-tier) | **Yes** — Free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, with every feature and add-on — SMS aside, which need a paid plan. Not a trial — a plan a small business stays on. A paid plan starts with 14 days free rather than a charge. | **No** — No free plan. The pricing page's own question about a free plan is answered with the 14-day trial, which runs on Gold, and the account is locked when the trial ends until a card is added. [source](https://glossgenius.com/pricing) |
| [No commission on bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#no-commission) | **Yes** — No commission, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge. The bill is the subscription, plus any SMS you send with the SMS messages add-on, billed per SMS and capped each month. | **Yes** — No marketplace and no per-booking fee; the help centre lists no transaction or key-in fees. Card processing is a percentage of each payment, charged separately. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/189-glossgenius-pricing-and-subscription-plans) |
| [Every feature included](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#everything-included) | **Partly** — Every feature and add-on is included — reminders, reviews, vouchers, the waiting list, forecasting, Messages, AI Chat and the website with your own domain. The one thing billed by use is SMS: the SMS messages add-on is free, and each SMS is billed monthly with a paid plan at a price per country, never more a month than a cap that starts at the plan's own price. Each location is billed at a base rate. | **No** — Payroll is a $40-a-month add-on plus $6 a seat; Reception, the AI receptionist, is a $50-a-month add-on once its free period ends; text-marketing credits above the plan allowance are sold in bundles; each additional location 'is charged the plan price, at a 15% discount'; and card readers and physical gift cards are bought separately. [source](https://glossgenius.com/pricing) (read 2026-10-16) |
| [The same features on every plan](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#no-plan-gating) | **Partly** — One plan, with free limits: every account, including a free one, has every feature and add-on. The one exception is SMS, which need a paid plan, because each one is billed on its invoice. | **No** — Standard has no forms or waivers, no waiting list, no Reserve with Google, no themes or font packs, no custom roles and no rooms or resources, and allows one extra member. Gold caps the team at nine; Platinum lifts the cap and adds per-service commissions and Google and Meta pixel tracking, and, in GlossGenius's article on the plan, priority support that skips the queue. The pricing page shows premium customer support only on Practice Advanced, which the help centre says is built on Platinum, and not on Practice Essentials, built on Gold. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/189-glossgenius-pricing-and-subscription-plans) (read 2026-10-17) |
| [No minimum term or cancellation fee](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#no-contract) | **Yes** — Monthly, no minimum term, no cancellation fee. There is no yearly plan. | **Yes** — Month to month, auto-renewing, cancel any time, or yearly at a discount — 12% to 14% by plan on the pricing page, and up to 17% (on Practice Advanced) in the help centre's plan article. The terms say subscription fees are non-refundable, with no pro-rated refund for the current cycle, and that fees can change on 14 days' notice; the help centre's cancellation article adds that a cancelled account stays active to the end of the billing cycle and that unused time is not refunded unless the business is within 15 days of its most recent subscription payment. [source](https://glossgenius.com/legal/terms) (read 2026-10-17) |
| [Processes your customers' card payments](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#payment-processing) | **No** — Bookodile does not take your customers' money. The payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid; payment stays between you and the customer. | **Yes** — Built in. When the business pays the fee, a card tapped, dipped or swiped costs 2.4% + 15¢ and a card on file, online or keyed in 3.4% + 15¢; the business can instead pay 1% or 0% and charge the customer a 2.5% or 3.5% technology fee. Buy-now-pay-later is 6% + 30¢. Its own Tap & Go and Pro readers only, no third-party reader, and only in the United States and Puerto Rico. ### [Taking bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-booking)

| | Bookodile | GlossGenius |
|---|---|---|
| [A hosted booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#hosted-booking-page) | **Yes** — bookodile.com/your-business, with your logo, colour, services — each with its photo, when you add one — and hours. One page per location. | **Yes** — yourbusiness.glossgenius.com on every plan, live from sign-up, with direct links to a single service or team member. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/779-understanding-your-booking-site-s-online-presence) |
| [Booking on your own website](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#embed-widget) | **Yes** — One snippet embeds the whole flow in any site — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or hand-built — inline or behind a Book-now button in your brand colour. A QR code is generated for print. | **Partly** — The documented route is a Book Now link or a pop-up that opens the hosted site. An iframe embed is switched on only after you ask support to enable it for your account. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/620-how-to-link-your-glossgenius-booking-site-to-your-personal-website) |
| [Customers book without an account or an app](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#guest-booking) | **Yes** — The customer gives only the details you require — a name, and an email, a phone number or both. No account, no app, no password. My Bookings, a web page they sign in to with an emailed code or Google, shows every booking they hold, if they want it. | **Yes** — No app and no account. The customer enters a name, phone number and email, and a card if the business requires one. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/64-clients-how-to-book-with-a-glossgenius-professional) |
| [Several services in one booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#multi-service-booking) | **Partly** — Combo services chain stages into one booking, and the extras you configure are offered during booking, in more than one round. Customers do not pick arbitrary pairs from the catalogue — you decide which combinations exist. | **Yes** — Customers pick several services in one booking, each keeping its own processing time. Staff can reorder the services and set a custom duration for each inside an appointment. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/182-how-clients-book-an-appointment-through-the-online-booking-site) |
| [Back-to-back services with different team members](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#multi-staff-sequential) | **Yes** — Each stage of a combo can have its own team member, its own duration and its own room, booked back to back. Each person is blocked only for their own stage, never for the whole visit. Staff move the whole visit in one step, with the times that fit every person in it shown first. | **Partly** — Its multi-professional booking lets a customer book up to three team members in one pass on the booking site, but each is a separate appointment: times chain from the first pick, each person is blocked only for their own appointment, the set cannot be rescheduled or cancelled together, every deposit must succeed or the whole bundle fails, each is checked out separately, and staff cannot create one in the app or on the desktop. Which plans have it is not settled: the pricing page's plan table and the articles on checking out and editing these bookings leave it off Standard, while the help centre's plan comparison ticks it on every plan. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/398-how-clients-can-book-with-multiple-professionals) (read 2026-10-16) |
| [Rooms, chairs and equipment as bookable resources](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#resources) | **Yes** — Rooms, chairs and equipment with a capacity and their own hours. A service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, and capacity is enforced when the booking is made. A service linked to several takes whichever one is free; a booking never holds two at once. Each one is open to anyone who does its services, or kept for named people when it belongs to them — three juniors share a chair while the master has his own. | **Extra cost** — Rooms and equipment on Gold and Platinum, assigned to services, with the person's and the resource's availability both checked. Customers never see a resource; a capacity above one and a booking with a resource but no person are not documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1091-managing-resources-how-to-create-edit-and-delete-rooms-equipment-and-more) |
| [Classes and events with a capacity](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-classes) | **Yes** — Events with a capacity and a registration list for one-off things; a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops. | **No** — The help centre says there is no dedicated feature for classes. The documented workaround is a hidden service and one appointment per attendee — ten attendees, ten appointments. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/101-how-to-add-classes) |
| [A different price per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#per-staff-pricing) | **Yes** — A service can be priced per team member, or per category such as Junior and Senior. The customer sees each person's price as they choose who, and the category's name too if you show it. | **Not published** — The service editor documents one price per service, with starting-price and price-hidden toggles. No article describes a different price per team member for the same service. |
| [A different duration per team member](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#per-staff-duration) | **Yes** — A service can take a different time per team member. Leave someone blank and they use the service's own duration. | **Not published** — Duration is set on the service. Staff can change it inside a single appointment; a standing duration per team member is not documented. |
| [Buffer time that blocks the calendar](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#buffer-time) | **Yes** — Each service can have its own buffer after it, up to 120 minutes, which blocks the person and any resource it used. Enforced on the booking page and in the booking API. | **Yes** — A per-service Block Time After on every plan, shown grey on the calendar and hidden from customers, added once at the end when several services are booked. A separate processing time lets another customer book the gap in the middle of a service. No buffer before a service is documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/74-how-to-automatically-block-time-after-appointments-gap-clean-up-time-etc) |
| [A waiting list with automatic offers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#waitlist) | **Yes** — Your team adds customers to the list; they cannot join it from the booking page. When a booking is cancelled, the time is offered automatically by email to whoever has waited longest for that service, with three hours to confirm — or until the time starts, if sooner — and confirming books them straight in. If nobody confirms, it goes to the next person waiting for that service within about ten minutes, as long as the time is still ahead and still free. | **Extra cost** — On Gold, Platinum and the Practice plans, a cancellation that opens a matching slot sends everyone waiting an automatic email and text with a booking link, and the first to book gets it. Not on Standard. Customers must pick a specific team member to join, and no card or deposit is taken at that point. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/647-how-to-manage-your-waitlist) |
| [Recurring bookings](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#recurring-bookings) | **Partly** — Your team can repeat a booking of one service from the calendar — weekly, every two weeks or monthly, up to 52 visits — and cancel one visit or the whole series. A combo or a booking with add-ons cannot be repeated. Customers cannot book a recurring appointment themselves. | **Yes** — Staff create a repeating appointment every so many days, weeks or months with an end date, in the app or on the web. An existing appointment cannot be turned into a series; a series or a single visit can be deleted. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/104-how-to-schedule-and-delete-recurring-or-repeating-appointments-for-clients) |
| [Booking rules](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#booking-rules) | **Yes** — Minimum notice (up to 72 hours), how far ahead (up to 365 days), start times every 5 to 60 minutes, auto-confirm or your approval, and a cancellation window (up to 168 hours) with late cancellation allowed or not — one set of rules per location. | **Yes** — Booking window in hours, advance limit in months, 10- to 60-minute increments, auto-approve for everyone, for existing customers only or never, a card requirement and a cancellation window. One set of rules for the whole team, not per person. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/200-how-to-setup-your-online-booking-site-rules) |
| [Customers cancel or reschedule themselves](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#self-service-cancel-reschedule) | **Yes** — Customers reschedule or cancel themselves from the link in their confirmation and reminder emails, or in My Bookings, outside your cancellation window, and can tell you why. A reschedule moves the whole visit in one step to a free time with the same team members and price, and the customer's calendar event moves with it. Inside the window they cannot reschedule online, and can cancel only if you allow late cancellations, once they accept they may be charged. | **Yes** — Links in the scheduling, confirmation and reminder messages let customers cancel or reschedule outside the cancellation window; a reschedule changes the date and time only. A multi-professional booking is handled one appointment at a time. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/604-how-clients-can-reschedule-their-appointments-online) |
| [Deposits and no-show protection](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#deposits-no-show) | **No** — No card on file and no deposits, because Bookodile does not process payments. A no-show is marked on the booking and counted on the customer's record, never charged. You can let customers cancel late once they accept you may charge them; collecting it is up to you. | **Yes** — A card on file for every booking, for new customers only or never; a deposit per service of up to 100%; a percentage cancellation fee charged to the card and reduced by any deposit; and a Mark as No-Show action that collects the fee. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/16-how-to-collect-deposits) |
| [Extras offered while booking](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#upsells) | **Yes** — Extras are offered while booking, per service or per category, in up to several rounds, with an optional discount for adding them. A service can be offered only as an extra, off the list of services. | **Partly** — The help centre says there is no built-in add-on feature. The documented workarounds are one Service Option per booking or a standalone service named as an add-on. Packages and memberships are sold on the booking site's shop. ### [What customers see](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-customers)

| | Bookodile | GlossGenius |
|---|---|---|
| [A website for your business](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#website) | **Yes** — Included in every account, the free one too. Built from your booking setup — services, prices, team, hours and reviews stay in step with it — with templates (switching one keeps every page, or takes a template whole with its texts rewritten for your business from your setup), one page or several in any of them, your own look, extra pages, languages, your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube as icons in the footer, and a photo gallery in categories you name — a category linked to a service opens its photos with that service's price and a Book button — photos made or enhanced with AI, changed by asking in your own words — pointing at any part of it on the preview — or by hand, typing straight onto the page and moving, copying or changing its sections where you see them, on a computer or a phone, and nothing public until you publish. An old website comes over by asking: its pages rebuilt as sections, with their own words and photos. It starts at yourname.bookodile.com; connect a domain you already own, at no cost, and it moves to www.yourbusiness.com. Every Book button opens your booking page at bookodile.com/your-business — the one under each team member with that person already chosen — and a Website visits report counts who came, from where, and how many booked, without cookies. Running promotions, upcoming events and announcements show on it too, and update themselves as they start and end. No blog, no online shop, and no code of your own. | **Partly** — The 'Booking Website Builder' is the booking site itself, on every plan: a home page, a Services page, an About page and a Contact page, set up under Website in the app with switches and pickers — a cover image, an accent colour, about text, social links, a portfolio gallery, and services and team members dragged into order. A service added in the app appears on it, and GlossGenius's builder page promises 'automatic synchronization and updates to your services and pricing'. Standard gets the Classic theme only; the six premium themes, palettes and fonts need Gold, Platinum or a Practice plan, and team members' photos and bios Gold or Platinum. No AI is described in the builder. It lives at yourbusiness.glossgenius.com — the help centre says 'custom domains are not supported at this time', so a domain of your own can only be forwarded to that address — and there is no access to the site's code. | [Makes and improves your photos with AI](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#ai-photos) | **Yes** — Included in every account, the free one too, up to 30 photos a month per account, each try counted. Take a photo on your phone and Enhance it, a team member's or a service's too: in your own words in any language, with ideas for your kind of business, by picking a look from pictures, or by putting a person or finished work into a photo of your own place, with before and after to compare. Create a photo from a description for a place on your website that has none — the top of a page, a service's cover, a card, or your gallery — in your own photo style. Then say what should change, like "remove the hand" or "clear the background", and it edits that photo, keeping every version. AI Chat can make several at once. You choose each one, and nothing is public until you publish. It works on your website's photos: it will not make a person's face, your team's portraits or the outside of your place, because customers should see the real ones. | **Partly** — Photos for the booking site are added from the mobile app, taken there or chosen from the camera roll, and can be edited by 'cropping it or changing its orientation' before they join the portfolio gallery, on all subscription plans. GlossGenius's AI is described for the business's messages and answers (Reception, Marketing Assistant, Growth Analyst); no page read describes an AI that makes a picture from a description or improves a photo. | [Listed in a consumer marketplace](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#marketplace) | **No** — No marketplace. Your booking page carries only your business, and no competitor is shown beside you — which also means it sends you no new customers. | **No** — No consumer directory. Customers are told to get the booking link from the business, its social profiles or Google. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/64-clients-how-to-book-with-a-glossgenius-professional) |
| [An app for customers](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#customer-app) | **No** — No consumer app to download. Customers book in the browser. My Bookings, a web page they sign in to with an emailed code or Google, lists every booking they hold with any Bookodile business; there they cancel, keep their details up to date and can turn off a business's SMS. | **No** — Customers book on the web; the client guide says no app needs downloading, and no consumer app is documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/64-clients-how-to-book-with-a-glossgenius-professional) |
| [Booking page languages](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#languages) | **Yes** — The booking page, the embedded widget and every email about a booking come in 17 languages: English, Slovak, Czech, Vietnamese, German, Hungarian, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Romanian, Croatian, Slovenian and Chinese. Each location has a main language — English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — and can add up to seven more, from the same list as its website. With more than one, the booking page shows a language switch and opens in the customer's own language when the location offers it (from the link, their last choice or their browser), otherwise in the main one. Every email and SMS about a booking goes out in the language it was made in; SMS in Ukrainian or Chinese go out in English, because they would not fit one SMS, while their emails and booking page stay in that language. Service names, descriptions, team bios and the location's other texts are translated automatically by AI, and the owner can correct any translation; names are never translated. The booking page's own wording in the 13 languages beyond English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese was written by AI and has not yet been read by a native speaker. What your customers read and what you read in the dashboard are separate settings. | **Partly** — English only. The App Store lists English as the app's one language, and no booking-site language setting is documented. The help article on custom language is about adding your own text to notifications, not translation. [source](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/glossgenius-booking-payments/id1081286979) |
| [Your business's time zone, shown correctly](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#timezones) | **Yes** — Every time is shown in the business's own zone, including on your dashboard. A customer in another zone sees both clocks before they confirm. Locations in different zones each keep their own; the group's combined monthly totals count on one clock. Each location writes its times on a 24-hour or a 12-hour clock (2:30 PM) — its country's until you pick one — on the booking page, in emails and SMS, on the website and in the dashboard alike. | **Partly** — One time zone per account. Multi-location is built for locations in the same time zone, with other zones listed as coming soon. How the booking site shows times to a visitor in another zone is not documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1206-getting-started-with-multi-location) |
| [Branding](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#branding) | **Partly** — Your own domain, at no cost: connect one you already own and your website moves to www.yourbusiness.com (the website row). The booking page its Book buttons open stays at bookodile.com/your-business, and the widget puts the same booking inside any other site you run, on that site's domain. Your logo, a second logo for dark backgrounds, a logo that links back to your own website, your brand colour with a contrast check, and announcements along the top of your booking page and your website. No custom CSS. | **Partly** — Cover image, accent colour, about text, portfolio and social links on every plan; seven themes, colour palettes and font packs on Gold and Platinum. A custom domain can only forward to the glossgenius.com address, and there is no access to the site's code. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/208-customizing-your-online-booking-site-with-themes-colors-and-fonts) |
| [Dark mode on the booking page](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#dark-mode) | **Yes** — The hosted page follows the customer's device, and a sun-and-moon button lets them switch; My Bookings keeps the same choice. Your brand colour is adjusted to stay visible on dark. The embedded widget stays light on purpose, so it matches the website it sits in. | **Partly** — The business can pick a Dark palette on the Play and Organic themes, on Gold and up. A booking page that follows the customer's device setting is not documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/208-customizing-your-online-booking-site-with-themes-colors-and-fonts) |
| [Book buttons on Google, Instagram and Facebook](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#social-booking) | **No** — No Reserve with Google or Instagram integration. Your booking link, bookodile.com/your-business, goes in your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link. Campaign tracking, an included add-on, gives ready-tagged links for Google, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and counts the bookings each one brings. | **Partly** — Facebook and Instagram Book Now buttons, one Instagram button per business. Reserve with Google on Gold and Platinum only, at the original location only, syncing every 24 hours. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/93-how-clients-can-book-through-google) |
| [Found on Google under your own name](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#search-visibility) | **Yes** — On from the start, once an automatic check of the business name passes — normally within minutes: your booking page is in the sitemap search engines read, under your business's name, with your own description and address as the snippet, and Bing and others are told when it changes. A published website is listed the same way at its own address, from its first online booking or two weeks after publishing. One switch keeps both out. Search engines still decide what to show and when. | **Yes** — On every plan. The help centre says the booking site is built to show up in Google searches and goes live as soon as the business signs up; its advice for ranking higher is to keep the About section, location and services current, collect reviews and link the site from other websites. ### [Running the business](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#group-operations)

| | Bookodile | GlossGenius |
|---|---|---|
| [An AI assistant that sets up and runs your account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#ai-assistant) | **Yes** — AI Chat, in every account including the free one, with a daily allowance per account. Ask in English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, typed or spoken: it answers how-to questions from this documentation and your own settings, explains why a day has no free times and who changed what; sets up team, services, prices, hours, rooms, booking rules, add-ons, logo and brand colour, and the order of your services and team; writes bios, your about text and service descriptions; builds and changes your website's draft and brings over the words of an old site; and moves, cancels or hands over bookings and blocks time, once or repeating. It shows every change first and waits for you to apply it, with Undo — only texts and the website's draft go in at once, still with Undo, and the website stays private until you publish. It answers you, not your customers, and does not create bookings. | **Partly** — AI that answers customers, reads the figures and writes campaigns. Reception answers the business's calls and texts around the clock and books, moves and cancels appointments in the calendar, handing anything else back as a task — an add-on on every plan at $50 a month for 100 minutes and 200 messages, free until 30 November 2026, single-location businesses only. The Growth Analyst answers questions about the business's own figures and builds reports: five questions in total on Standard, 20 a month per team member on Gold and Practice Essentials, unlimited on Platinum and Practice Advanced. The AI Marketing Assistant writes email and text campaigns on Gold, Platinum and the Practice plans, with a limited trial on Standard, and has no access to the account's data; AI-suggested services propose services the business taps to add, and a Genius Support Bot answers support questions in the app. No assistant the business asks in its own words to set up or change the account, or its website, is documented. [source](https://glossgenius.com/pricing) (read 2026-10-17) |
| [Calendar](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#calendar) | **Yes** — Day, week and month. Drag a booking to a new time or a different person — the calendar names any clash first, and Undo puts it back for ten seconds after. Block out time for the business, one person or a resource — once, or repeating every day, on chosen weekdays, every two weeks or every month. Add a walk-in; filter by person, service or resource. A visit with several services moves as one — dragged, or from the booking dialog, which shows the times that fit everyone first and still takes any other day and time, listing what it clashes with. | **Yes** — Day, week and month, with a column per person; drag-and-drop and resize on the web, drag with a five-minute snap and pinch-to-zoom on the rebuilt mobile calendar; personal blocks, including repeating ones. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1174-what-s-new-in-the-glossgenius-mobile-calendar) |
| [A native app for your team](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#staff-app) | **No** — No native app. The dashboard is a web app that installs to a phone's home screen and works there, online. No push notifications: the team is told about bookings by email. | **Yes** — iOS and Android, and the product is built around them: themes, forms and waivers, gift-card redemption, reviews, two-way calendar sync and the Google, Facebook and Instagram buttons are set up in the app only. Payroll, subscription management and detailed analytics are web only. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1051-platform-availability-desktop-vs-mobile-features) |
| [Several locations in one account](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#multi-location) | **Yes** — Up to 50 locations in one account — a guard against misuse, raised on request — each with its own team, hours, services and booking page. A new location can start from one you have — its services with prices, hours, booking rules, logo and colours and website — and takes the team members you pick. Customers are one list across them, a team member can work at several with one sign-in, and a group dashboard totals them. The free plan covers one location; each location is billed at a base rate. | **Yes** — On every plan: one account, one customer list, one team and one login. Each extra location is an add-on billed at the plan's per-location rate — $24, $48 or $143 a month on Standard, Gold or Platinum — which the pricing page words as each additional location being 'charged the plan price, at a 15% discount'. Locations must share a time zone and a tax rate. GlossGenius's article on how customers book with several locations adds one booking site with a Locations tab, where a customer books at one location at a time; its article on what the locations share keeps invoices, Reserve with Google and house calls at the original location. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1206-getting-started-with-multi-location) (read 2026-10-17) |
| [Roles and permissions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#roles-permissions) | **Yes** — Owner, Manager, Employee and Receptionist ready-made, or build a role and set each permission by hand — including whether someone sees only their own bookings, customers and figures, takes bookings at all, can message customers, or manages billing, which only the owner can give. | **Extra cost** — Eight preset roles, from Owner to Medical Director, with each permission adjustable — own or everyone's calendar, checkout, refunds, reports — on Gold and Platinum. Not on Standard, which allows one extra member in the Accountant role. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/129-understanding-and-assigning-team-member-roles) |
| [A history of who changed what](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#change-history) | **Yes** — Activity records changes to bookings, customers, services, resources, the team, time off, blocked time and settings: what changed from what to what, who did it — a team member by name, the customer, or automatic — how and when. Each role sees the history of what it can open, a booking's own history sits in the booking window with what the customer was sent, and it exports to CSV. Kept 24 months, in every account. Not recorded: what a role may do, prices set per team member or category, payment records, billing and add-on records such as vouchers; a note shows as edited, never its words. | **Partly** — Two narrow records. On the Practice plans, amending a signed client chart keeps every version with who changed it, when and why; on every plan, the Package Activity Report names the team member who updated a package. GlossGenius lists 'Advanced Staff Activity Logging' as coming soon to Platinum, no log of changes to bookings, customers, services and settings is documented, and a deleted appointment cannot be viewed or restored by the business. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1233-how-to-amend-client-charts) (read 2026-10-16) |
| [Reports](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reports) | **Yes** — Revenue, bookings, average value and cancellation rate over the last twelve months, charted month by month, with bookings by status, new customers, top services and the team ranked by revenue; per location or across all. A no-show counts as a booking, never as revenue. Website visits shows who came to your website, from where, and how many booked. Forecasting, revenue split, booking sources and payments received are included add-ons. The period is fixed at twelve months. | **Yes** — Sales, appointments, retail, sales tax, inventory, transactions, most valuable customers, expenses and packages on Standard. Commission earnings, time sheets and payroll on Gold and Platinum, plus staff performance, retention and utilisation reports and AI-built custom reports. No forecast report is documented. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/117-available-reports) |
| [A leaderboard for the team](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#team-leaderboard) | **Yes** — A monthly competition on bookings or revenue that the whole team sees, with a winner per category if you want one, results frozen and emailed on the 1st, and a Hall of fame. Revenue amounts stay hidden from the team unless you show them. Up to three at once, per location. An included add-on. | **Partly** — The team scorecard ranks team members on sales, ticket value and retention on Gold and Platinum, but service provider roles can view only their own reports. Goal setting on every plan lets each team member track their own revenue goal, with no ranking against colleagues. [source](https://glossgenius.com/reports-analytics) |
| [Point of sale, stock and payroll](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#pos-inventory-payroll) | **No** — No point of sale, no stock, no payroll — a walk-in is a booking. The included payment-tracking add-on records what each visit was paid, by cash, card or transfer, with part-payments and tips shared between the people who did the work, and Revenue split works out each team member's share at the percentage you set, month by month. | **Yes** — A built-in point of sale with its own readers, Tap to Pay, split payments, invoices and buy-now-pay-later; inventory with barcode scanning and low-stock alerts; payroll with US tax filing as a $40-a-month add-on plus $6 per paid seat. [source](https://glossgenius.com/pricing) |
| [Confirmations and reminders](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reminders) | **Yes** — Confirmations, a reminder the day before at 8:00, two hours before or both — your choice — changes, cancellations and follow-ups by email, all included, in the language the customer booked in. By SMS too with the SMS messages add-on: the add-on is free, and SMS need a paid plan — billed monthly with it, per SMS, capped each month. SMS reach numbers in 14 countries today; Czechia, the US and Canada are coming soon. | **Yes** — Unlimited text and email at no extra cost: scheduling, a 72-hour confirmation, a 24-hour reminder, thank-you, birthday and cancellation notices. Text wording cannot be changed; rebooking reminders and custom timing need Gold. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/680-how-to-enable-or-disable-client-notifications) |
| [Messages with one customer, in one inbox](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#customer-messages) | **Yes** — Messages, in every account: write to one customer from the calendar or their page by email, SMS or both, and read their answer in one inbox, with unread ones marked and the team told by email. Email is included; SMS need the SMS messages add-on on a paid plan, billed per SMS — Czech, US and Canadian numbers coming soon. The customer answers on a page the message links to, not by replying to the email or text, and cannot start a conversation. No WhatsApp. | **Partly** — No two-way texting for appointment notifications: a customer's reply reaches nobody, and the customer gets an automatic text pointing to the business's contact details. Replies to emails land in the business's own email inbox, outside GlossGenius, and a reply to a text campaign is forwarded by text to the account owner, who answers from their own phone. Reception's AI texts with customers, and staff can read those conversations in its dashboard but cannot reply from its number; GlossGenius is gradually moving a Reception business's appointment messages onto the Reception number, where a customer's reply reaches the AI. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/1221-what-happens-when-a-client-replies-to-a-message-sent-from-glossgenius) (read 2026-10-16) |
| [Email and text campaigns](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#marketing-campaigns) | **Partly** — No bulk email or SMS campaigns. Included add-ons instead: a win-back sequence of up to three emails to customers overdue for a visit, judged by their own usual gap, never to anyone with a booking ahead and starting over after their next visit, the later ones with a one-time discount code; promotions and announcements on your booking page and your website, an announcement optionally kept on the booking page for customers who have booked before; and Campaign tracking, which shows which ads and links bring bookings. | **Yes** — Email campaigns are unlimited on every plan. Text campaigns run on credits — 100 once on Standard, 500 a month on Gold, 2,500 on Platinum, more in bundles from $4.99 — and every campaign is reviewed by hand within 24 hours before it sends. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/458-how-many-monthly-credits-do-i-receive-for-text-marketing-campaigns) |
| [Reviews](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#reviews) | **Yes** — Collect a rating and comment after each visit, publish them on your booking page and website when you choose — all of them, never hand-picked — reply in public or privately, and ask every customer, not only the happy ones, for a Google review in the same email. | **Yes** — A review request in every receipt, one per paid appointment, shown on the booking site; reviews can be hidden but not deleted. On Gold and up the star link can point at your Google Business profile instead. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/689-client-reviews-faq) |
| [Gift vouchers, discount codes and promotions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#vouchers-discounts) | **Partly** — Gift vouchers, discount codes, promotions and upsell discounts, all included. No packages or memberships, and vouchers are issued by you rather than sold online. | **Partly** — Digital gift cards on every plan, physical cards from a storefront, packages and memberships sold on the booking site, and manual discounts at checkout. No promo or discount codes: the help centre says the booking site has no way to create them. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/639-can-i-create-discount-or-promo-codes-for-clients-to-use-on-my-booking-site) |
| [Google or Outlook calendar sync](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#calendar-sync) | **Partly** — Bookings are pushed into one Google Calendar per location as they are made, moved or cancelled. One direction only — Google events do not block your availability — not one calendar per team member, and no Outlook sync. Customers can add their own booking to Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar. | **Partly** — An outbound feed to Google, Outlook or iCal, which Google may take up to 24 hours to show. Two-way sync pulls phone-calendar events into the mobile app only; they do not appear on the web calendar. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/105-understanding-and-setting-up-two-way-calendar-sync) |
| [Intake and consent forms](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#forms) | **Partly** — A consent checkbox in your own wording, with a link to your privacy policy — each customer's agreement is recorded with the date and the wording they saw — invoice details that can be optional or required, and a notes field. No custom intake forms or questions, and no e-signatures. | **Extra cost** — Intake forms and waivers with a required e-signature on Gold, Platinum and the Practice plans. Standard has no forms or waivers, and forms are built in the mobile app only. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/91-genius-form-waiver-faqs) |
| [Your data: export, import, API](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#data-portability) | **Partly** — Export bookings, customers and the activity log to CSV whenever you like. No import tool yet — customers from another tool are added one at a time or as they book — and no public API. | **Partly** — Customers export to CSV — name, email, phone and birthday, not notes — from the web, by the account owner only. Other data comes out as report downloads or through support. No API: the booking site gives no access to its code or APIs. Free inbound transfer from other systems in two to six business days. [source](https://glossgenius.elevio.help/en/articles/792-how-to-export-your-client-list) |
| [Support](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#support) | **Yes** — Email support, included, with the documentation at bookodile.com/docs behind it, and AI Chat in the dashboard, which answers how-to questions from that documentation and from your own settings. A new business is walked through its setup in AI Chat right after signing up — its services, texts and website — at no cost. No phone line, and no chat with a person. | **Yes** — Phone and text Monday to Friday 10am–8pm and Saturday 11am–7pm Eastern, limited support by email on Sunday, and a Genius Support Bot in the mobile app around the clock, which opens a ticket for the team when it cannot answer. GlossGenius's article on the Platinum plan adds priority support there: a call, email or text from the account's own phone number or email address is handled ahead of other inquiries. Its pricing page lists a free data transfer service on every plan, a dedicated onboarding specialist on both Practice plans, and premium customer support on Practice Advanced only. ## [Where GlossGenius is stronger](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strengths)

- **[It takes your customers' money, and pays you the same day](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-it-takes-your-customers-money-and-pays-you-the-same-day)** — Card processing from 2.4% + 15¢ in person, on its own readers or Tap to Pay, a card on file, deposits of up to 100%, a cancellation fee charged to the card, invoices, split payments, buy-now-pay-later, and free same-business-day payouts Monday to Thursday. Bookodile does not process payments; it records what you were paid.
- **[It is built for the phone in your hand](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-it-is-built-for-the-phone-in-your-hand)** — Native iOS and Android apps with a rebuilt calendar — drag with a five-minute snap, pinch to zoom, light or dark — and most of the product is set up there. Bookodile's dashboard is a web app that installs to a phone's home screen; there is no native app.
- **[Payroll, commissions, stock and a till](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-payroll-commissions-stock-and-a-till)** — Payroll with US tax filing as a $40-a-month add-on, commission rates per person and per service, time tracking, inventory with barcode scanning, and a point of sale. Bookodile has none of these; a walk-in is a booking, and the payment-tracking add-on is a record, not a till.
- **[Text reminders and campaigns, switched on](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-text-reminders-and-campaigns-switched-on)** — Unlimited text and email reminders on every plan at no extra cost, unlimited email campaigns, and text campaigns with a monthly credit allowance on Gold and Platinum. Bookodile's reminders are email, and SMS only with its SMS messages add-on on a paid plan, billed per SMS — and its SMS reach numbers in 14 countries, with the US and Canada coming soon; it has no bulk campaigns — an automated win-back sequence and promotions on the booking page instead.
- **[Someone moves your data, and someone picks up the phone](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-someone-moves-your-data-and-someone-picks-up-the-phone)** — A free transfer of your data from Vagaro, Square, Booksy, Fresha, Acuity, Boulevard and others in two to six business days, and phone and text support six days a week. Bookodile has no import tool yet, and its support is by email, with AI Chat in the dashboard for how-to questions.
- **[Forms, waivers and signatures](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-forms-waivers-and-signatures)** — Intake forms and waivers with a required e-signature, on Gold and up. Bookodile has a consent checkbox in your own wording, optional or required invoice details and a notes field — no custom intake forms and no e-signatures.
- **[An AI receptionist that answers calls and texts](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#strength-an-ai-receptionist-that-answers-calls-and-texts)** — Reception answers the business's phone and texts around the clock, books, moves and cancels appointments straight into the calendar, follows the deposit and cancellation policies, and hands anything else back as a task. It is an add-on on every plan, free until 30 November 2026 and then $50 a month for 100 minutes and 200 messages, for single-location businesses. Bookodile's AI Chat works for your team instead: it sets up the account and moves bookings when you ask, and it answers no calls and no customer messages.

## Notes for anyone selling Bookodile

These are the claims not to make against GlossGenius, because they are not true:

- Do not say GlossGenius cannot price or time a service differently per team member. Its help centre documents one price and one duration per service and says nothing about a per-member one — undocumented, not absent.
- Do not say GlossGenius resources have no capacity or cannot be booked without a person. Neither is documented either way.
- Do not say a GlossGenius booking page ignores the customer's time zone or has no dark mode. What is documented is one time zone per account and a dark palette the business can choose on two themes.
- Do not claim Bookodile is cheaper for a team. Gold is one flat monthly fee for up to nine people, and a team of that size with every spot in use may pay more on Bookodile. Compare the two bills for the actual setup.
- Do not imply Bookodile takes card payments, deposits or no-show fees, or runs payroll, stock or a till. GlossGenius does all of those; Bookodile does none.
- Do not imply Bookodile texts US or Canadian numbers today. Its SMS reach numbers in 14 countries, and neither is one of them yet — both are coming soon; until then a customer in the US or Canada gets reminders and messages by email.
- Do not say GlossGenius has no API or no Zapier. The only published statement is that the booking site gives no access to its code or APIs; the Zapier claim is third-party.
- Do not quote a valuation, funding round, customer count, revenue figure or review rating as a GlossGenius fact. The 120,000-plus businesses figure is on its homepage; everything else is third-party.
- Do not repeat reviews about payout holds, account closures or outages. Nothing on GlossGenius's own pages supports them.
- Do not state which plans include multi-professional booking. GlossGenius's pricing page leaves it off Standard and its feature articles never name Standard, while its help centre's plan comparison ticks it on every plan. Quote the disagreement, not a side.
- Do not present the absence of a marketplace or a customer app as something GlossGenius has stated. Its client guide describes booking without an app or account and names no directory; no page says either does not exist.
- Do not say a customer's text never reaches a GlossGenius business, or that GlossGenius has no AI that books. Replies to text campaigns are forwarded to the owner's phone, and Reception books from calls and texts. What is documented is narrower: replies to appointment texts reach nobody — except Reception's AI, where a business's appointment messages have moved to the Reception number, which GlossGenius is rolling out gradually — and no way for staff to answer a customer inside GlossGenius is described.

## [Common questions](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq)

**[Is GlossGenius free?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-is-glossgenius-free)**

No. There is no free plan. The 14-day trial runs on the Gold plan without a card, and the account is locked when the trial ends until a card is added; the cheapest plan after that is Standard at $28 a month, or $24 a month paid yearly. Bookodile is free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, with every add-on included — SMS aside, which need a paid plan — for as long as those three hold.

**[Can I move my customers from GlossGenius to Bookodile?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-can-i-move-my-customers-from-glossgenius-to-bookodile)**

GlossGenius exports your client list as a CSV — name, email, phone and date of birth, not notes — from the web, by the account owner. Bookodile does not yet import one. Customers are created automatically the first time they book, so the list rebuilds itself as regulars return, and your team can add anyone by hand in the meantime.

**[Does Bookodile take card payments and deposits like GlossGenius?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-does-bookodile-take-card-payments-and-deposits-like-glossgenius)**

No. GlossGenius processes cards — 2.4% + 15¢ in person, 3.4% + 15¢ online or keyed in — keeps a card on file, takes deposits and charges no-show fees. Bookodile does none of that. Payment stays between you and your customer, however you already handle it, and the payment-tracking add-on records what arrived.

**[Can I use GlossGenius outside the United States?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-can-i-use-glossgenius-outside-the-united-states)**

No. Its help centre says it is available only to businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, the app is not in other countries' stores, and its payments do not work outside those regions. Bookodile is priced by country band, and the booking page reads in 17 languages, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese among them.

**[What happens to my booking link, Reserve with Google and the Instagram button?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-what-happens-to-my-booking-link-reserve-with-google-and-the-instagram-button)**

Your GlossGenius address is yourbusiness.glossgenius.com, and a custom domain only forwards to it. Bookodile gives you bookodile.com/your-business for booking, and every place the old link lives gets the new one; its website, built from your booking setup, sits on your own domain at www rather than your domain forwarding to another address. Reserve with Google and the Facebook and Instagram buttons are GlossGenius integrations; Bookodile has no equivalent, so the booking link goes into your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link, and a QR code is generated for print.

**[How does the pricing compare for a business with three people?](https://bookodile.com/compare/bookodile-vs-glossgenius#faq-how-does-the-pricing-compare-for-a-business-with-three-people)**

On GlossGenius, Standard allows one extra member and only in the Accountant role, so three people who take bookings means Gold — one flat fee for up to nine. On Bookodile, three people who each take bookings at the same time are three booking spots, which is above the free tier; the figure for your country is on the pricing page. If two of them share one room, that is two spots, and a receptionist is never counted.

## Who GlossGenius is for

GlossGenius is a booking, payments and business app for independent
professionals and small teams in the United States. Its help centre says it is
available only to businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, the app is
not offered in other countries' stores, and its card processing does not work
outside those regions. The product is designed around the phone: the booking
site's themes, forms and waivers, gift-card redemption, reviews, two-way
calendar sync and the Google, Facebook and Instagram buttons are all set up in
the mobile app, and the web dashboard is the second screen. Its pricing page
sorts customers into five industry groups.

Bookodile is narrower on purpose. It is for a business where the people are
not interchangeable, where a room or a piece of equipment is the real
bottleneck, where one visit can involve two people, and where the customer may
read Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — or simply trade outside the United States.
Those are the rows on this page where the two products differ most.

## The pricing model, in practice

GlossGenius charges one flat fee per business account, monthly or yearly, in
US dollars. Standard is $28 a month, or $24 a month paid yearly; Gold is $56 or
$48; Platinum is $168 or $148. Two Practice plans with charting sit above that.
The fee is not per person, but each plan carries a headcount. Standard allows
one extra member, and only in the Accountant role; Gold allows nine in total;
Platinum has no cap. So the first person who takes bookings alongside you
moves you from Standard to Gold, and the tenth moves you to Platinum. Each
extra location is billed on top: the pricing page says each one "is charged
the plan price, at a 15% discount", and the multi-location guide lists $24 a
month on Standard, $48 on Gold and $143 on Platinum. Card processing runs
through GlossGenius: 2.4% + 15¢ for a card tapped, dipped or swiped and 3.4% +
15¢ for a card on file, online or keyed in, or the business pays 1% or 0% and
the customer a 2.5% or 3.5% technology fee. Reception, the AI receptionist, is
free until 30 November 2026 and then a $50-a-month add-on.

There is no free plan. The 14-day trial runs on Gold, needs no card, and when
it ends the account is locked until a card is added. Cancelling takes effect
at the end of the billing cycle, and unused time is not refunded unless you
are within 15 days of your most recent subscription payment.

Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a
booking that month. A spot is one appointment you can run at the same time as
another — your bottleneck, not your headcount — so five people who share one
room are one spot, and a receptionist or an owner who takes no bookings is not
counted at all. The figures for your country are on [the pricing
page](/pricing) and the model is explained in [What Bookodile
costs](/docs/what-bookodile-costs). It is free at one location with up to two
active spots and up to 40 bookings a month, with every add-on included. The
one thing billed by use is SMS, which need a paid plan and are billed per SMS,
capped each month — and they reach numbers in 14 countries today, with the
US and Canada coming soon.

Be honest with yourself about which is cheaper for you. Gold is one flat fee
for up to nine people, and a team of that size with every spot in use may pay
more on Bookodile. A solo business under 40 bookings a month is free on
Bookodile and paid on GlossGenius. Work out both bills for your setup before
the rows below.

## Two services, two people

This is the row worth reading GlossGenius's own articles on, because the
feature is called one thing and works as another.

GlossGenius calls it *multi-professional booking*, and it exists only on the
customer-facing booking site. When the services a customer selects are
assigned to different team members, the site books up to three of them in one
pass: the customer picks a time for the first appointment, and the second and
third fall in after it. The order is a single business-wide *Booking Order*
set in the mobile app, not something set per person. The help centre is plain
about the mechanism: "Each team member requires a separate appointment to be
scheduled." Because each stage is its own appointment with its own provider,
each person is blocked only for their own appointment — the article describes
no whole-visit blocking.

The limits the help centre states follow from that. The customer cannot
reschedule the bundle at once, and cannot cancel it at once. If the deposit on
any one appointment fails, the whole bundle fails. Staff cannot create one in
the app or on the desktop; only the booking site can. Editing one of the
linked appointments does not touch the others. At checkout each appointment is
paid separately, split payment is not available, and each appointment sends
its own scheduling, confirmation and reminder messages — three of each for a
three-person booking. Which plans include it is not settled on GlossGenius's
own pages: the pricing page's plan table leaves it off Standard, and the
articles on checking out and editing these bookings name other plans and never
Standard, while the help centre's plan comparison ticks it on every plan.

In Bookodile the same thing is a combo service: one service with one person
and a second with another, as stages of one booking. Each stage carries its
own team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, and each
person is blocked only for their stage. The customer books once and cancels
once. Staff move or cancel the whole visit in one step from the booking
dialog, which shows the times that fit every person in it first and still
takes any other time, listing what it clashes with — or move it by dragging
any of its services in the calendar. The honest difference in the other direction is that a combo is defined
by the business — customers do not assemble any pair of services across any
three people, as they can on a GlossGenius site; you decide which combinations
exist.

## Switching from GlossGenius

- **Customers.** GlossGenius exports the client list as a CSV — name, email,
phone and date of birth, not notes — from the web, by the account owner.
Bookodile has no import tool yet; customers are created the first time they
book, and your team can add anyone by hand.
- **Bookings.** Appointment history comes out of GlossGenius as report
downloads. Bookodile does not import bookings; run the two side by side
until the GlossGenius calendar empties out, then switch the link.
- **Your booking link.** The old address is yourbusiness.glossgenius.com, and a
custom domain only forwards to it. Every place that link lives — Google
Business profile, Instagram bio, your website — gets the new one, and the
domain can carry Bookodile's website instead of a forward. Bookodile
generates a QR code for the counter.
- **Reserve with Google, Facebook and Instagram buttons.** These are
GlossGenius integrations; Bookodile has no equivalent. Your Google profile
can still carry the booking link as its website or appointment link, and
Campaign tracking, an included add-on, gives ready-tagged links for Google,
Instagram and Facebook and counts the bookings each one brings.
- **Payments, cards on file and deposits.** If you take these through
GlossGenius, you will need a separate way to do it. Bookodile records
payments; it does not take them.
- **Gift cards, packages and memberships.** Bookodile issues gift vouchers but
has no packages or memberships, so anything customers have prepaid on
GlossGenius needs to be honoured outside it.
- **Text reminders.** Your customers get email confirmations and reminders
from Bookodile. Its SMS messages add-on, on a paid plan and billed per SMS,
reaches numbers in 14 countries today; the US and Canada are coming soon,
and until then a US customer list gets email — GlossGenius's text reminders
  cost nothing extra.
- **Talking to customers.** A reply to a GlossGenius appointment text reaches
nobody, unless Reception's AI sends those texts for you. Bookodile's
Messages write to one customer from the calendar or their page, by email,
  or by SMS with the add-on where the number is in one of its 14 countries;
the customer answers on a page the message links to, and the answers arrive
  in one inbox.
- **The subscription.** Cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing
cycle, and GlossGenius keeps the account's data afterwards unless you ask for
  it to be deleted.

## Where each one fits

Choose GlossGenius if you want card payments, deposits and no-show fees inside
the booking, a native app your team lives in, payroll, commissions, stock and a
till, text reminders at no extra cost and text campaigns, an AI receptionist
for calls and texts, a phone line to support, or forms with signatures — and
you trade in the United States.

Choose Bookodile if you want a free plan that stays free, every feature
without a tier (SMS need a paid plan) — a website on your own domain too — an
AI assistant that sets up your account and moves bookings when you ask, a
customer's answer to your message in one inbox, people who are priced or timed
differently, a room or a machine that limits what you can take, a class that
fills up and stops, one visit with two people as one booking, moved in one
step, or a booking page your customers read in Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — or
a business anywhere outside the United States.
