Comparison

Bookodile vs Fresha

Fresha is a beauty and wellness platform with a consumer marketplace, card payments and a point of sale, billed per bookable team member plus a fee on new marketplace customers. Bookodile is booking software with a website built from it — no marketplace, no commission, every feature included with only SMS billed by use, and free for a small business.

Bookodile or Fresha: what matters most#

Bookodile

A free plan, not a trial — with every feature#

Start free and stay free: one location, two booking spots, 40 bookings a month, and every feature and add-on, the website and AI Chat included. Only SMS need a paid plan, because each one is billed.

Fresha

No free plan: on the pricing page served in euros, Independent is €11.95 a month for one team member and Team €7.95 per team member, after a 7-day trial.

Bookodile

A website you build with AI — on your own domain, free#

Tell AI Chat what you want and it builds your website with you. The first draft comes in moments, made from your services, prices, team, hours and reviews, in a design you choose. Then just say what to change: “make it feel warmer”, “bring over the words from my old site”, “rewrite our About text”. Photo galleries sort into categories you name, and a category linked to a service gets its own Book button. Prices and opening hours stay in step with your bookings. Your own domain connects at no cost, and nothing goes public until you publish.

Fresha

Smart Website is an add-on at €12.95 a month: templates filled from your Fresha services, prices and team, designed on a desktop; AI writes the text, and a domain bought through Fresha costs extra each year.

Bookodile

AI Chat — an AI assistant that helps with everything you need#

Ask in your own words, typed or spoken, and AI Chat does the work. It sets up services, prices, the team and opening hours. It writes your bios and service descriptions and builds your website. It blocks out a holiday and hands those bookings to a colleague, moves bookings, and tells you what tomorrow holds and who changed what. Every change comes with Undo, in every account, the free one included.

Fresha

AI Concierge, a paid add-on, answers your customers' calls and messages, and elsewhere AI writes text. Fresha documents no assistant that sets up or changes your account when you ask.

Bookodile

No commission, ever#

No cut of your bookings, no fee for a new customer, no charge per booking. Your bill is the subscription, plus any SMS you send, capped each month.

Fresha

Its help centre describes a one-time fee on the first appointment of every customer who found you through the Fresha marketplace — even if they then book through your own website — though the pricing page served to Slovakia lists that fee as free.

These are only the main ones. See the full comparison, feature by feature

Why businesses switch from Fresha#

Customers book without a Fresha account#

Fresha's help centre says customers need to create or sign in to a Fresha customer account to book and confirm an appointment online; browsing is open, booking is not. In Bookodile a customer books with a name plus an email or a phone number — no account, no app, no password — and a web portal shows them their bookings if they want it.

No fee on a new customer, whoever sent them#

Fresha charges a one-time marketplace new-client fee on the first completed appointment of a customer who found you on its marketplace — worked out from the value of that first appointment, with a minimum and a cap, its help centre says — even if that customer then books through your own website link, and it cannot be switched off while you are listed. Bookodile takes no commission, no new-client fee and no per-booking charge; the bill is the subscription, plus any SMS you send with the SMS messages add-on, billed per SMS and capped each month.

A booking page that is yours, on your own site#

On Fresha your booking page is your marketplace profile, booking links only work while that profile is listed, and the Book now button for your website sends customers to your Fresha page rather than booking inside your site. Bookodile gives you a hosted page carrying only your business, and one snippet that embeds the whole booking flow in your own website, inline or behind a button.

Every feature included, and a plan that is free#

Fresha has no free plan, and around the subscription it sells loyalty, premium reports, Google review requests, accounting sync, raw data access, marketing texts and reminders beyond an allowance as separate charges — and its Smart Website is an add-on too, at €12.95 a month on the pricing page served in euros. Bookodile has one plan and no add-on prices: every account, including a free one at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, has every feature and add-on, and a website built from your booking setup, on a domain you already own at no cost if you like. The one thing billed by use is SMS: they need a paid plan, and each one is billed monthly, never more a month than a cap that starts at the plan's own price.

You pay for booking spots, not for every bookable person#

Fresha bills per bookable team member — anyone with calendar bookings enabled in their profile — every month, whether or not they were booked. Bookodile bills a base rate per location plus the booking spots that actually took a booking that month: several people sharing one room are one spot, an idle spot costs nothing, and someone who takes no bookings is never counted.

A booking page in Slovak#

Fresha's consumer site and booking pages come in 33 languages, including Czech, German and Vietnamese, but not Slovak — fresha.com/sk does not exist. Bookodile's booking page comes in 17 languages, and Slovak can be a location's main one, with up to seven more that customers switch between on the page, separately from the language you read your dashboard in.

What each one costs#

Bookodile

A base rate per location plus a rate per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, in country bands. No commission, no per-booking fee, no feature sold separately — only SMS, if you send them, are billed per SMS.

Show prices for
  • One location with three booking spots costs $68 a month.
  • Free at 1 location, up to 2 booking spots and 40 bookings a month — every add-on included; SMS need a paid plan.

Fresha

Per bookable team member — anyone with calendar bookings enabled in their profile — in whatever currency Fresha serves to your location, with no selector; the page served to Slovakia and Czechia is in euros, and its footer says rates exclude 20% sales tax. Independent is €11.95 a month for one bookable team member and a single calendar column. Team is €7.95 per bookable team member a month, with unlimited team members; the comparison table ticks multiple locations under both plans. Over 20 team members is Enterprise at custom rates. Both plans carry a 7-day trial, and the FAQ says businesses with teams need no card for it. There is no free plan, and Fresha's own pages do not date when the earlier free one ended. Around the plan sit per-use charges — text and WhatsApp reminders beyond an allowance, marketing texts, card processing at 1.29% + €0.20 — and monthly add-ons for loyalty, premium reports, Google review requests, accounting sync, raw data and a website. The trap is the marketplace: a one-time new-client fee is charged on the first completed appointment of any customer who found you through the Fresha marketplace, even if they then book through your own website link, and it cannot be switched off while you are listed. Fresha's pages disagree on the number — the pricing page labels the fee 'Free', while the help centre says it is worked out from the value of that first appointment, with a minimum and a cap, and refers back to the pricing page for the rate.

Pricing#

A free plan that stays free#

Not a trial: a plan a small business can stay on.

Bookodile

Yes

Free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, with every feature and add-on — SMS aside, which need a paid plan. Not a trial — a plan a small business stays on. A paid plan starts with 14 days free rather than a charge. More

Fresha

No

No free plan. Independent and Team are both paid after a 7-day trial, and the help centre describes the plan as one subscription bundling the essentials. Fresha's own pages do not date when the earlier free plan ended. Source

No commission on bookings#

No cut of a booking, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge.

Bookodile

Yes

No commission, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge. The bill is the subscription, plus any SMS you send with the SMS messages add-on, billed per SMS and capped each month. More

Fresha

No

A one-time 'Marketplace new client fee' on the first completed appointment of a customer who discovered you through the Fresha marketplace — worked out from the value of that appointment, with a minimum and a cap, the help centre says, referring to the pricing page for the rate; the pricing page served to Slovakia prints no rate and lists the marketplace new-client fee as 'Free'. It applies even if that customer then books through your website or social links, is charged if you cancel on their behalf, and cannot be opted out of while listed. No fee on returning customers or anyone already on your customer list, and no per-booking fee otherwise. Source

Every feature included#

Nothing sold separately — text bundles, marketing, forms, a branded app, extra locations.

Bookodile

Partly

Every feature and add-on is included — reminders, reviews, vouchers, the waiting list, forecasting, Messages, AI Chat and the website with your own domain. The one thing billed by use is SMS: the SMS messages add-on is free, and each SMS is billed monthly with a paid plan at a price per country, never more a month than a cap that starts at the plan's own price. Each location is billed at a base rate. More

Fresha

No

Sold separately on the page served in euros: Client Loyalty €49.95 per location, Insights €9.95 per bookable team member, Google Rating Boost €8.95 per location, Xero €8.95 per location, Team Connect €2.79 per member, Data Connector €135 per location and Smart Website €12.95, all monthly; text and WhatsApp reminders beyond 20 a month; marketing emails beyond 50; marketing texts at €0.20; card terminals from €339 on Independent. AI Concierge is a paid add-on that page does not price. Source

The same features on every plan#

No capability reserved for a higher tier.

Bookodile

Partly

One plan, with free limits: every account, including a free one, has every feature and add-on. The one exception is SMS, which need a paid plan, because each one is billed on its invoice. More

Fresha

Partly

The two plans split by headcount. Independent is one bookable team member and one calendar column, and the pricing table shows a dash under it for login permissions, sales commissions, wages, pay runs, timesheets, per-team-member service pricing and duration, multi-merchant payments and phone support; multiple locations are ticked on both. Independent gets email and chat support; Team gets phone, chat and email. The paid add-ons are priced the same on both, and card terminals, from €339 a device on Independent, are free on Team subject to processing volumes. Source

No minimum term or cancellation fee#

Bookodile

Yes

Monthly, no minimum term, no cancellation fee. There is no yearly plan. More

Fresha

Yes

Month to month, auto-renewing, cancel any time, no minimum commitment; charged on the first day of each calendar month. On cancellation, workspace access is removed and the marketplace profile is unlisted at the end of the cycle; a declined card pauses the account. Source

Processes your customers' card payments#

Takes the customer's money at booking or at the till.

Bookodile

No

Bookodile does not take your customers' money. The payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid; payment stays between you and the customer. More

Fresha

Yes

Fresha Payments: online and in-person cards at 1.29% + €0.20 per transaction on the page served in euros, Tap to Pay for €0.10 more per authorisation, terminals from €339 a device on Independent and free on Team subject to processing volumes, deposits and no-show fees. Optional — the pricing FAQ says you can use Fresha without it — and available in 'select countries' that Fresha does not list. Source

Taking bookings#

A hosted booking page#

Bookodile

Yes

bookodile.com/your-business, with your logo, colour, services — each with its photo, when you add one — and hours. One page per location. More

Fresha

Yes

Your marketplace profile — the venue page — is the booking page, reached through the marketplace, your unique booking link, 'Book now' buttons and QR codes. While the profile is offline or unlisted, customers cannot book through the marketplace, Reserve with Google or any booking link. Source

Booking on your own website#

An embedded widget or button, not just a link.

Bookodile

Yes

One snippet embeds the whole flow in any site — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or hand-built — inline or behind a Book-now button in your brand colour. A QR code is generated for print. More

Fresha

Partly

Direct booking links, which Fresha's help centre lists among the ways customers book 'directly through your Fresha online profile'. No iframe or script widget is documented, so the booking itself happens on Fresha, not inside your website. Source

Customers book without an account or an app#

Bookodile

Yes

The customer gives only the details you require — a name, and an email, a phone number or both. No account, no app, no password. My Bookings, a web page they sign in to with an emailed code or Google, shows every booking they hold, if they want it. More

Fresha

No

Customers need to create or sign in to a Fresha customer account to book and confirm an appointment online. Browsing is open; booking is not. The workaround the help centre gives is the business booking them by hand. Source

Several services in one booking#

Bookodile

Partly

Combo services chain stages into one booking, and the extras you configure are offered during booking, in more than one round. Customers do not pick arbitrary pairs from the catalogue — you decide which combinations exist. More

Fresha

Yes

Customers choose several services into one appointment. A booking sequence can force a fixed order, and service bundles group two or more services, booked in sequence or in parallel, with their own or a discounted price. Source

Back-to-back services with different team members#

Each person is blocked only for their own part, not for the whole visit.

Bookodile

Yes

Each stage of a combo can have its own team member, its own duration and its own room, booked back to back. Each person is blocked only for their own stage, never for the whole visit. Staff move the whole visit in one step, with the times that fit every person in it shown first. More

Fresha

Yes

When several services are booked, the customer can pick a different professional for each; auto-assignment has a switch to split multi-service appointments across team members; bundles are booked in sequence, one after another, or in parallel across several team members. Each service is its own calendar entry. Whether a customer can choose a different person per stage inside a bundle is not stated. Source

Rooms, chairs and equipment as bookable resources#

With a capacity, and bookable without a person.

Bookodile

Yes

Rooms, chairs and equipment with a capacity and their own hours. A service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, and capacity is enforced when the booking is made. A service linked to several takes whichever one is free; a booking never holds two at once. Each one is open to anyone who does its services, or kept for named people when it belongs to them — three juniors share a chair while the master has his own. More

Fresha

Yes

Rooms and equipment as resources with a type, a capacity of one appointment or a set number of two or more, and resource-only services with no team member required, per location. Online booking cannot double-book a resource. Launched March 2026. Source

Classes and events with a capacity#

Bookodile

Yes

Events with a capacity and a registration list for one-off things; a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops. More

Fresha

Partly

'Group appointments' are several individual appointments joined under an organiser. Customers can book for up to six people online when the switch is on, and it then applies to every service. No class with a fixed capacity and no timetable of sessions is documented, and a group cannot book the same team member online. Source

A different price per team member#

Bookodile

Yes

A service can be priced per team member, or per category such as Junior and Senior. The customer sees each person's price as they choose who, and the category's name too if you show it. More

Fresha

Yes

Advanced pricing and durations set a service's price for specific team members or locations, and per variant, and the customer sees each team member's price. The pricing table lists this under Team, with a dash under Independent. Source

A different duration per team member#

Bookodile

Yes

A service can take a different time per team member. Leave someone blank and they use the service's own duration. More

Fresha

Yes

On the same screen, a duration per location and per team member; customers see the appropriate price and duration for each team member. Under Team on the pricing table. Source

Buffer time that blocks the calendar#

Bookodile

Yes

Each service can have its own buffer after it, up to 120 minutes, which blocks the person and any resource it used. Enforced on the booking page and in the booking API. More

Fresha

Yes

Extra time per service in three kinds: blocked time (customer gone, team member unavailable), processing time (customer present, team member free for another booking) and extra servicing time, placed before or after, and also per appointment. Slot generation counts processing time. Source

A waiting list with automatic offers#

A cancellation is offered to whoever is waiting, without you doing anything.

Bookodile

Yes

Your team adds customers to the list; they cannot join it from the booking page. When a booking is cancelled, the time is offered automatically by email to whoever has waited longest for that service, with three hours to confirm — or until the time starts, if sooner — and confirming books them straight in. If nobody confirms, it goes to the next person waiting for that service within about ten minutes, as long as the time is still ahead and still free. More

Fresha

Yes

'You pick' or 'Automatically book' modes, with priority by first in line, highest value, or offer to all. Customers can join online; when a slot opens they are told by email, text or WhatsApp, and the next in line is notified if the first does not book within the set time. Included in the plan. Source

Recurring bookings#

Bookodile

Partly

Your team can repeat a booking of one service from the calendar — weekly, every two weeks or monthly, up to 52 visits — and cancel one visit or the whole series. A combo or a booking with add-ons cannot be repeated. Customers cannot book a recurring appointment themselves. More

Fresha

Partly

Repeat appointments created by the team with a frequency and an end date, generated up to 12 months ahead; edit or cancel one or the whole series. Nothing documented lets a customer book a repeating series online. Source

Booking rules#

Minimum notice, how far ahead, approval, cancellation window, slot spacing.

Bookodile

Yes

Minimum notice (up to 72 hours), how far ahead (up to 365 days), start times every 5 to 60 minutes, auto-confirm or your approval, and a cancellation window (up to 168 hours) with late cancellation allowed or not — one set of rules per location. More

Fresha

Partly

A time-slot interval with three ways of offering slots — regular slots, 'Reduce calendar gaps' or 'Eliminate calendar gaps', which shows only slots next to existing appointments and blocked time — in Fresha's schedule-optimisation article. Its online-bookings settings article sets the booking window: minimum notice from none or immediately up to two weeks, maximum advance up to 12 months, and a deadline for cancelling or rescheduling online through the payment policy. Per-service limits by date range, weekday and time of day are a third article. No manual-approval mode is documented. Source

Customers cancel or reschedule themselves#

Bookodile

Yes

Customers reschedule or cancel themselves from the link in their confirmation and reminder emails, or in My Bookings, outside your cancellation window, and can tell you why. A reschedule moves the whole visit in one step to a free time with the same team members and price, and the customer's calendar event moves with it. Inside the window they cannot reschedule online, and can cancel only if you allow late cancellations, once they accept they may be charged. More

Fresha

Yes

Customers cancel or reschedule from their Fresha account, outside your cancellation or reschedule window, including bookings made in person. Not for group appointments, and not if the service has been removed from online booking. Source

Deposits and no-show protection#

Bookodile

No

No card on file and no deposits, because Bookodile does not process payments. A no-show is marked on the booking and counted on the customer's record, never charged. You can let customers cancel late once they accept you may charge them; collecting it is up to you. More

Fresha

Yes

Payment policies: a deposit as a percentage or a fixed amount, card capture, a no-show fee as a percentage of the appointment value, a late-cancellation fee, a refundable-until window, rules per service or customer group, auto-cancel if unpaid within 1 to 72 hours, or full prepayment. Requires Fresha Payments. Source

Extras offered while booking#

Bookodile

Yes

Extras are offered while booking, per service or per category, in up to several rounds, with an optional discount for adding them. A service can be offered only as an extra, off the list of services. More

Fresha

Yes

Service add-ons with their own price and time, shown as an extra step in the booking flow; service upselling suggests up to five services with a discount; membership upselling; promo codes, flash sales and last-minute offers. Source

What customers see#

A website for your business#

More than a booking page: pages for your services, team and story, made for you, on a domain of your own.

Bookodile

Yes

Included in every account, the free one too. Built from your booking setup — services, prices, team, hours and reviews stay in step with it — with templates (switching one keeps every page, or takes a template whole with its texts rewritten for your business from your setup), one page or several in any of them, your own look, extra pages, languages, your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube as icons in the footer, and a photo gallery in categories you name — a category linked to a service opens its photos with that service's price and a Book button — photos made or enhanced with AI, changed by asking in your own words — pointing at any part of it on the preview — or by hand, typing straight onto the page and moving, copying or changing its sections where you see them, on a computer or a phone, and nothing public until you publish. An old website comes over by asking: its pages rebuilt as sections, with their own words and photos. It starts at yourname.bookodile.com; connect a domain you already own, at no cost, and it moves to www.yourbusiness.com. Every Book button opens your booking page at bookodile.com/your-business — the one under each team member with that person already chosen — and a Website visits report counts who came, from where, and how many booked, without cookies. Running promotions, upcoming events and announcements show on it too, and update themselves as they start and end. No blog, no online shop, and no code of your own. More

Fresha

Extra cost

Smart Website, an add-on at €12.95 a month on the pricing page served in euros: a site started from a template, colour palette and font pack, then edited by hand in a website builder — sections added and moved, content blocks edited and dragged into place, pages, links and drop-down menus in its own navigation. It fills from the business's services, prices, team, reviews, contact details, opening hours, locations and amenities and keeps them in sync, updating in moments, beside the site's own text and images. AI writes the text of a block or a page's search title and description when asked, from the account's details; no AI that changes the design or the pages from a request in plain words is described. Every site gets a customisable Fresha web address, such as name.freshasites.com; a custom domain bought through Fresha is charged each year on top, with no price in the help centre, or one the business already owns is connected with DNS records. Designing it needs a desktop, and cancelling the add-on unpublishes the site at the end of the period. Source

Makes and improves your photos with AI#

Inside the product: make a picture for your website or profile from a description, or improve one you took — its light, its background, what is in it. Stock photos, ordinary filters, a background remover alone, or AI images only for social posts are partly.

Bookodile

Yes

Included in every account, the free one too, up to 30 photos a month per account, each try counted. Take a photo on your phone and Enhance it, a team member's or a service's too: in your own words in any language, with ideas for your kind of business, by picking a look from pictures, or by putting a person or finished work into a photo of your own place, with before and after to compare. Create a photo from a description for a place on your website that has none — the top of a page, a service's cover, a card, or your gallery — in your own photo style. Then say what should change, like "remove the hand" or "clear the background", and it edits that photo, keeping every version. AI Chat can make several at once. You choose each one, and nothing is public until you publish. It works on your website's photos: it will not make a person's face, your team's portraits or the outside of your place, because customers should see the real ones. More

Fresha

Partly

No Fresha page describes AI that makes or improves a picture; its AI writes text, such as the Enhance button on a business description and the AI icon on Smart Website text blocks. Photos are uploaded, and the email builder's image block offers 'a striking image from the library or upload your own'. A product photo for the online store can be cropped in Manage photos. Source

Listed in a consumer marketplace#

A directory where customers find you — and your competitors beside you.

Bookodile

No

No marketplace. Your booking page carries only your business, and no competitor is shown beside you — which also means it sends you no new customers.

Fresha

Yes

A consumer marketplace where customers find your business. Listing is the condition for online booking: unlisting the marketplace profile disables online bookings, every booking link becomes inactive and existing Book now buttons stop working, and customers can no longer find or view the business on the marketplace. Source

An app for customers#

Bookodile

No

No consumer app to download. Customers book in the browser. My Bookings, a web page they sign in to with an emailed code or Google, lists every booking they hold with any Bookodile business; there they cancel, keep their details up to date and can turn off a business's SMS. More

Fresha

Yes

'Fresha for customers' on iOS and Android, with over a million installs on Android, for finding, booking, managing and paying for appointments. Source

Booking page languages#

What your customers read.

Bookodile

Yes

The booking page, the embedded widget and every email about a booking come in 17 languages: English, Slovak, Czech, Vietnamese, German, Hungarian, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Romanian, Croatian, Slovenian and Chinese. Each location has a main language — English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — and can add up to seven more, from the same list as its website. With more than one, the booking page shows a language switch and opens in the customer's own language when the location offers it (from the link, their last choice or their browser), otherwise in the main one. Every email and SMS about a booking goes out in the language it was made in; SMS in Ukrainian or Chinese go out in English, because they would not fit one SMS, while their emails and booking page stay in that language. Service names, descriptions, team bios and the location's other texts are translated automatically by AI, and the owner can correct any translation; names are never translated. The booking page's own wording in the 13 languages beyond English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese was written by AI and has not yet been read by a native speaker. What your customers read and what you read in the dashboard are separate settings. More

Fresha

Partly

The consumer site and booking pages come in 33 languages, including Czech, German and Vietnamese; Slovak is not among them, and fresha.com/sk returns a 404. A business sets a default language for team and customer messages, and customers override it in their own account. The business app is English only. Source

Your business's time zone, shown correctly#

Bookodile

Yes

Every time is shown in the business's own zone, including on your dashboard. A customer in another zone sees both clocks before they confirm. Locations in different zones each keep their own; the group's combined monthly totals count on one clock. Each location writes its times on a 24-hour or a 12-hour clock (2:30 PM) — its country's until you pick one — on the booking page, in emails and SMS, on the website and in the dashboard alike. More

Fresha

Partly

A workspace time zone under Settings, Scheduling, with daylight saving handled. Whether each location can have its own zone, and which clock a customer in another zone sees, are not stated. Country and currency are fixed at sign-up. Source

Branding#

Logo, colour, custom CSS, custom domain.

Bookodile

Partly

Your own domain, at no cost: connect one you already own and your website moves to www.yourbusiness.com (the website row). The booking page its Book buttons open stays at bookodile.com/your-business, and the widget puts the same booking inside any other site you run, on that site's domain. Your logo, a second logo for dark backgrounds, a logo that links back to your own website, your brand colour with a contrast check, and announcements along the top of your booking page and your website. No custom CSS. More

Fresha

Partly

The booking page is your marketplace profile: photos, portfolio, team profiles and an 'Important info' block. No colours, fonts, CSS or custom domain for the booking page are documented. A separate Smart Website builder has layouts, themes, colours, fonts and a custom domain, as an add-on at €12.95 a month on the pricing page served in euros. Source

Dark mode on the booking page#

Bookodile

Yes

The hosted page follows the customer's device, and a sun-and-moon button lets them switch; My Bookings keeps the same choice. Your brand colour is adjusted to stay visible on dark. The embedded widget stays light on purpose, so it matches the website it sits in. More

Fresha

No Reserve with Google or Instagram integration. Your booking link, bookodile.com/your-business, goes in your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link. Campaign tracking, an included add-on, gives ready-tagged links for Google, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and counts the bookings each one brings.

Fresha

Yes

Reserve with Google, switched on from the Add-ons menu, needs an exact name and address match with the Google Business Profile, a listed profile, shifts in the next 30 days and priced services, and is refused to a business filed under 'Other'. Facebook and Instagram Book now buttons need a Meta business account. All three need a listed marketplace profile. The pricing page lists Facebook and Instagram bookings as free and does not list Reserve with Google. Source

Found on Google under your own name#

Your booking page or profile is listed for search engines, so someone searching for your business finds it.

Bookodile

Yes

On from the start, once an automatic check of the business name passes — normally within minutes: your booking page is in the sitemap search engines read, under your business's name, with your own description and address as the snippet, and Bing and others are told when it changes. A published website is listed the same way at its own address, from its first online booking or two weeks after publishing. One switch keeps both out. Search engines still decide what to show and when. More

Fresha

Partly

Reserve with Google, which Fresha's help centre says puts the business in Google Search and Maps with a Book button, once the marketplace profile is listed and the Google Business Profile's name and address match Fresha's exactly. Fresha's marketplace page calls the profile 'searchable' within the marketplace; whether the profile page itself is listed by search engines is not stated. A search title, description and a hide-from-search switch per page come with the Smart Website add-on, €12.95 a month on the page served in euros. Source

Running the business#

An AI assistant that sets up and runs your account#

Ask in your own words and it explains, sets things up and moves bookings. AI that only answers your customers, only writes copy or only answers support questions is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

AI Chat, in every account including the free one, with a daily allowance per account. Ask in English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, typed or spoken: it answers how-to questions from this documentation and your own settings, explains why a day has no free times and who changed what; sets up team, services, prices, hours, rooms, booking rules, add-ons, logo and brand colour, and the order of your services and team; writes bios, your about text and service descriptions; builds and changes your website's draft and brings over the words of an old site; and moves, cancels or hands over bookings and blocks time, once or repeating. It shows every change first and waits for you to apply it, with Undo — only texts and the website's draft go in at once, still with Undo, and the website stays private until you publish. It answers you, not your customers, and does not create bookings. More

Fresha

Partly

AI Concierge, a paid add-on charged as a monthly fee plus call minutes topped up as they run out, not priced on the pricing page. It answers customers' phone calls and, when switched on for chat, their Client Connect messages — answering questions, booking, cancelling and rescheduling for them, transferring a call or taking a message — and prepares or posts replies to reviews. It works from the services, availability, prices and policies already in the account. Elsewhere AI writes text: service descriptions, campaign copy, website content. No assistant that sets up or changes the account when the business asks is documented. Source

Calendar#

Day, week and month; drag to move; blockers.

Bookodile

Yes

Day, week and month. Drag a booking to a new time or a different person — the calendar names any clash first, and Undo puts it back for ten seconds after. Block out time for the business, one person or a resource — once, or repeating every day, on chosen weekdays, every two weeks or every month. Add a walk-in; filter by person, service or resource. A visit with several services moves as one — dragged, or from the booking dialog, which shows the times that fit everyone first and still takes any other day and time, listing what it clashes with. More

Fresha

Yes

Day, three-day, week and month views; drag to a new time or team member in Day view; resize by dragging the edge; filters by status, channel, payment status, service and requested team member; blocked time; a resource view; colour by service. Source

A native app for your team#

Bookodile

No

No native app. The dashboard is a web app that installs to a phone's home screen and works there, online. No push notifications: the team is told about bookings by email. More

Fresha

'Fresha for business' on iOS and Android — the latest and two prior iOS versions, and Android 8 or later. Source

Several locations in one account#

Bookodile

Yes

Up to 50 locations in one account — a guard against misuse, raised on request — each with its own team, hours, services and booking page. A new location can start from one you have — its services with prices, hours, booking rules, logo and colours and website — and takes the team members you pick. Customers are one list across them, a team member can work at several with one sign-in, and a group dashboard totals them. The free plan covers one location; each location is billed at a base rate. More

Fresha

Yes

On both plans — the pricing table ticks multiple business locations under Independent as well as Team. Each location has its own schedules, team members, services, reports, product sales, opening hours and marketplace profile, and its own address and billing details on receipts. The subscription is per bookable team member rather than per location, but Loyalty, Google Rating Boost, Xero and Data Connector are priced per location. Source

Roles and permissions#

Custom roles, per-permission control.

Bookodile

Yes

Owner, Manager, Employee and Receptionist ready-made, or build a role and set each permission by hand — including whether someone sees only their own bookings, customers and figures, takes bookings at all, can message customers, or manages billing, which only the owner can give. More

Fresha

Yes

Templated roles plus unlimited custom permission roles across ten areas — own or all calendars, sales, full or name-only customer details, team or own reports, team, catalogue, online profile, marketing, payments and workspace. The pricing table lists permissions under Team only. Source

A history of who changed what#

Every change to bookings, customers, services and settings, with who made it and when. A booking's own history alone is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

Activity records changes to bookings, customers, services, resources, the team, time off, blocked time and settings: what changed from what to what, who did it — a team member by name, the customer, or automatic — how and when. Each role sees the history of what it can open, a booking's own history sits in the booking window with what the customer was sent, and it exports to CSV. Kept 24 months, in every account. Not recorded: what a role may do, prices set per team member or category, payment records, billing and add-on records such as vouchers; a note shows as edited, never its words. More

Fresha

Partly

Each appointment has its own activity log, 'a full log of changes': when it was booked, status changes, the notifications sent, and automatic reassignments with the original and new team member and the reason. Edits to a sale are recorded in a sales activity tab, manual stock removals in a stock history, and manual loyalty-tier changes name the team member who made them. A log across bookings, customers, services, the team and settings is not documented, nor whether the appointment log names who made each change. Source

Reports#

Bookodile

Yes

Revenue, bookings, average value and cancellation rate over the last twelve months, charted month by month, with bookings by status, new customers, top services and the team ranked by revenue; per location or across all. A no-show counts as a booking, never as revenue. Website visits shows who came to your website, from where, and how many booked. Forecasting, revenue split, booking sources and payments received are included add-ons. The period is fixed at twelve months. More

Fresha

Partly

44 reports included — sales, finance, performance, payments, liabilities, deposits, gift cards, customer retention — exported one at a time as PDF, CSV or Excel. Eight premium reports, custom reports and advanced filters need the Insights add-on at €9.95 per bookable team member a month. No forecast report is named. Source

A leaderboard for the team#

Team members see where they rank on bookings or sales, with a winner. A report only managers can open is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

A monthly competition on bookings or revenue that the whole team sees, with a winner per category if you want one, results frozen and emailed on the 1st, and a Hall of fame. Revenue amounts stay hidden from the team unless you show them. Up to three at once, per location. An included add-on. More

Fresha

Partly

The Performance Summary report compares team members, and Fresha's own tip is to use it to pinpoint top performers. Whether a team member sees the whole team's figures or only their own is a permission the business sets; no ranking, winner or competition for the team is documented. Source

Point of sale, stock and payroll#

Bookodile

No

No point of sale, no stock, no payroll — a walk-in is a booking. The included payment-tracking add-on records what each visit was paid, by cash, card or transfer, with part-payments and tips shared between the people who did the work, and Revenue split works out each team member's share at the percentage you set, month by month. More

Fresha

Yes

Point of sale with split payments, refunds, voids, receipts, taxes, tips and service charges; stock with suppliers, stocktakes, orders and transfers, and an online product store; commissions, wages, timesheets and pay runs paid from the Fresha wallet, which needs Fresha Payments; Xero and QuickBooks sync, Xero as a paid add-on. Source

Confirmations and reminders#

Email and text; included or charged.

Bookodile

Yes

Confirmations, a reminder the day before at 8:00, two hours before or both — your choice — changes, cancellations and follow-ups by email, all included, in the language the customer booked in. By SMS too with the SMS messages add-on: the add-on is free, and SMS need a paid plan — billed monthly with it, per SMS, capped each month. SMS reach numbers in 14 countries today; Czechia, the US and Canada are coming soon. More

Fresha

Partly

Email notifications are free. Text and WhatsApp reminders with an and/or fallback between them, two by default plus one extra; 20 free text or WhatsApp messages per bookable team member a month, then €0.15 a text or €0.10 to €0.30 a WhatsApp message on the page served in euros. If the message balance runs out, customer messages stop. Source

Messages with one customer, in one inbox#

Write to a customer and read their answer inside the product — not a bulk campaign. One-way only is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

Messages, in every account: write to one customer from the calendar or their page by email, SMS or both, and read their answer in one inbox, with unread ones marked and the team told by email. Email is included; SMS need the SMS messages add-on on a paid plan, billed per SMS — Czech, US and Canadian numbers coming soon. The customer answers on a page the message links to, not by replying to the email or text, and cannot start a conversation. No WhatsApp. More

Fresha

Yes

Client Connect, included with every plan according to Fresha's Connect page: one-to-one chat with a customer in one inbox, linked to their profile and bookings, with unread marks, notifications, attachments and internal notes. A customer can start a chat only after booking, from the appointment in their Fresha account; the team can write to anyone on the customer list. The customer is told in the Fresha app and by email and answers in the app or in a browser through the link. Two permissions set who reads and who replies; AI Concierge can answer the chats at extra cost. Source

Email and text campaigns#

Bookodile

Partly

No bulk email or SMS campaigns. Included add-ons instead: a win-back sequence of up to three emails to customers overdue for a visit, judged by their own usual gap, never to anyone with a booking ahead and starting over after their next visit, the later ones with a one-time discount code; promotions and announcements on your booking page and your website, an announcement optionally kept on the booking page for customers who have booked before; and Campaign tracking, which shows which ads and links bring bookings. More

Fresha

Extra cost

Blast email and text campaigns with segments and scheduling: 50 free emails per team member a month then €0.02 each; texts €0.20 each, paid upfront. Automated rebook, birthday, win-back, loyalty and thank-you messages, and deals such as promo codes, flash sales and last-minute offers. Source

Reviews#

Collect, publish, and ask for Google reviews.

Bookodile

Yes

Collect a rating and comment after each visit, publish them on your booking page and website when you choose — all of them, never hand-picked — reply in public or privately, and ask every customer, not only the happy ones, for a Google review in the same email. More

Fresha

Yes

Automatic review invitations after each appointment, with stars, a comment and photos, published on the marketplace profile; public or private replies as the business or a team member; Google reviews synced into one dashboard; AI-drafted replies through AI Concierge. Asking for a Google review is the paid Google Rating Boost add-on, €8.95 per location a month. Source

Gift vouchers, discount codes and promotions#

Also packages and memberships.

Bookodile

Partly

Gift vouchers, discount codes, promotions and upsell discounts, all included. No packages or memberships, and vouchers are issued by you rather than sold online. More

Fresha

Yes

Gift cards (selling them online needs Fresha Payments), promo codes with limits and a minimum spend, flash sales, last-minute offers, smart pricing, bundles with a discount, packages of prepaid sessions, and recurring memberships. Loyalty points, tiers and referrals are the paid Client Loyalty add-on at €49.95 per location a month. Source

Google or Outlook calendar sync#

Bookodile

Partly

Bookings are pushed into one Google Calendar per location as they are made, moved or cancelled. One direction only — Google events do not block your availability — not one calendar per team member, and no Outlook sync. Customers can add their own booking to Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar. More

Fresha

Yes

Per team member: two-way Google Calendar sync; Outlook and Apple through an ICS link, export only or import only, linked twice for both. Imported events become blocked time, and a sync takes up to 15 minutes. Source

Intake and consent forms#

Bookodile

Partly

A consent checkbox in your own wording, with a link to your privacy policy — each customer's agreement is recorded with the date and the wording they saw — invoice details that can be optional or required, and a notes field. No custom intake forms or questions, and no e-signatures. More

Fresha

Partly

Consultation forms from basic and custom templates, attached to services and sent automatically on booking or added by hand, stored on the customer profile and printable. Listed as included on the pricing table. No e-signature is documented. Source

Your data: export, import, API#

Bookodile

Partly

Export bookings, customers and the activity log to CSV whenever you like. No import tool yet — customers from another tool are added one at a time or as they book — and no public API. More

Fresha

Partly

Customers export to Excel or CSV, appointments to PDF, CSV or Excel, and reports one at a time; CSV import of customers and products. Card details cannot be exported or transferred. No public API or webhooks are documented; raw data is the Data Connector add-on at €135 per location a month, one way into Snowflake. Source

Support#

Channels and hours; whether onboarding costs extra.

Bookodile

Yes

Email support, included, with the documentation at bookodile.com/docs behind it, and AI Chat in the dashboard, which answers how-to questions from that documentation and from your own settings. A new business is walked through its setup in AI Chat right after signing up — its services, texts and website — at no cost. No phone line, and no chat with a person. More

Fresha

Partly

Email, live chat and phone are included with every subscription at no extra cost, though the help centre says the channels vary by country or region and points to the pricing page. The page served in euros gives Independent email and chat support and Team phone, chat and email, with a typical response of two days by email and two minutes by chat. Hours are not published. Paid data-migration packages for larger businesses. Source

Where Fresha is stronger#

Being straight about this is what makes the rest of the page worth reading.

The marketplace brings customers; Bookodile brings none#

Fresha's site says more than 25 million customers book through its marketplace and app, and its bookings surface on Google, Facebook and Instagram and, since August 2026, inside ChatGPT and Claude. Bookodile has no marketplace: your page carries only your business, shows no competitor beside you, and sends you no new customers. A business that relies on being found may want exactly what Fresha sells.

It takes your customers' money#

Fresha Payments handles online and in-person cards, Tap to Pay, terminals, deposits, no-show and late-cancellation fees, full prepayment, gift cards sold online and paying your team from the Fresha wallet. Bookodile does not process payments; the payment-tracking add-on records what arrived, and deposits are not possible.

It runs the whole business, not only the diary#

Point of sale with split payments, refunds, receipts, taxes and tips; stock with suppliers, stocktakes, orders and transfers; commissions, wages, timesheets and pay runs; Xero and QuickBooks sync. Bookodile has none of these — a walk-in is a booking, and there is no stock or payroll.

Native apps, for the team and for customers#

Fresha for business and Fresha for customers are both native iOS and Android apps. Bookodile's dashboard and booking page are web apps that install to a phone's home screen; there is no app in either store.

Thirty-three languages, WhatsApp, and messages by the hundred#

The consumer site comes in 33 languages, reminders go by text or WhatsApp with a fallback between them, and blast campaigns reach customers by email or text. Bookodile's booking page has 17 languages, its reminders go by email, and by SMS with the SMS messages add-on on a paid plan — to numbers in 14 countries, not yet Czechia and not the United States or Canada — with no WhatsApp and no bulk campaigns.

Rooms, per-person prices, a waiting list — Fresha has them too#

The rows a multi-person business asks about first — a different price and duration per team member, rooms and equipment with a capacity, back-to-back services with different people, an automatic waiting list — are all in Fresha. On the waiting list Fresha goes further in one way: customers join it online. In Bookodile your team adds customers to the list; in both, the next in line is offered the time when the first does not take it in time. Bookodile's case against Fresha is the account requirement, the fee, the listing and the bill, not those rows.

An AI that answers your phone and your customers' messages#

Fresha's AI Concierge, a paid add-on, answers customers' calls and their chat messages, books, moves and cancels appointments for them, transfers a call or takes a message, and prepares replies to reviews. Bookodile's AI Chat works for your team instead — it explains Bookodile and sets up and changes your account, showing each change first and waiting for you to apply it, while texts and the website's draft go in at once with Undo — and it does not answer your customers, by phone or by chat.

Who Fresha is for

Fresha is a marketplace-led platform for beauty and wellness. Its own list of business types runs from salons, barbers and nails through spa, massage, fitness and recovery, physical therapy, health practices, tattooing and pet grooming, and the product follows the marketplace: your booking page is your marketplace profile, your booking links work only while that profile is listed, and Reserve with Google is refused to a business filed under "Other". It is London first and sold worldwide — the site comes in 33 languages, the consumer app in 34 — and the pricing page shows whatever currency Fresha serves to your location.

Bookodile is a booking system, with a website built from it and nothing else beside it. There is no marketplace, no card processing and no point of sale. It is for a business that wants its own booking page and its own customers, a bill with nothing per customer on it, and a page its customers can read in Slovak. Those are the rows on this page where the two differ most.

The pricing model, in practice

Fresha charges per bookable team member — anyone whose profile has calendar bookings enabled. One person is Independent at €11.95 a month on the page served to Slovakia; a team is €7.95 per bookable member a month on Team; an owner who takes no bookings is not counted. There is no free plan. Both plans carry a 7-day trial. Around the plan sit the per-use charges: text and WhatsApp reminders beyond 20 a month, marketing texts, card processing, and monthly add-ons per location or per member for loyalty, premium reports, Google review requests, accounting and raw data.

Then there is the marketplace new-client fee. Fresha's help centre describes it as a one-time fee worked out from the value of a new customer's first completed appointment, with a minimum for low-value appointments and a cap for high-value ones, charged when that customer first found you through the Fresha marketplace — including when they looked at your profile and then booked through your own website or social link. It stays charged if you cancel on the customer's behalf or reschedule, and it cannot be switched off while your profile is listed. The help centre sends you to the pricing page for the rate; the pricing page served to Slovakia prints "Free". Ask Fresha for the figure in your country before you sign up.

Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, and nothing per customer. People who take no bookings are not counted, and several people sharing one room are one spot. The figures for your country are on the pricing page, and the model is explained in What Bookodile costs. One location with up to two active spots and 40 bookings a month is free, with every add-on. SMS are the one thing billed by use: sent with the SMS messages add-on, they need a paid plan and are billed per SMS, capped each month.

Two services, two people

Fresha documents this in more detail than most, so it is worth stating exactly.

In the online booking flow, after choosing services, the customer can pre-select a professional, and Fresha's article says that when several services are booked they can choose a different professional for each. When the customer picks nobody, an auto-assignment setting has a switch to allow splitting multi-service appointments across team members, so that each service goes to a different person. A workspace booking sequence fixes the order: sequenced services are always scheduled in the order you set, whatever order the customer chose them in. Bundles add two schedule types — booked in sequence, one after another, or booked in parallel, at the same time across several team members. Each service becomes its own calendar entry for its own team member. Overlap within one person is handled by processing time, during which that team member is free to take another appointment, and the slot generator counts it.

Two things the articles do not say, and this page does not guess: whether an online customer can pick a different person per stage inside a sequence-type bundle (the article says so for multi-service appointments, not for bundles), and, in so many words, that a team member is blocked only for their own service — that follows from each service being its own calendar entry, but Fresha does not state it as a sentence.

In Bookodile the same thing is a combo service: stages of one booking, each with its own team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, booked back to back. Each person is blocked only for their stage, and the customer makes one booking. The difference here is not capability — Fresha has this — but that Bookodile's customer does it without creating an account, and that you decide which combinations exist rather than the customer choosing any pair from the catalogue.

Switching from Fresha

  • Customers. Fresha exports your customer list to Excel or CSV, if your role allows it. Bookodile has no import tool yet; customers are created the first time they book, and your team can add anyone by hand.
  • Cards on file. Fresha's help centre says card details cannot be exported or transferred. Bookodile holds no cards, so there is nothing to move them into.
  • Bookings. Fresha exports appointments to PDF, CSV or Excel. Bookodile does not import bookings; run both until the Fresha calendar empties out, then switch the link.
  • Your booking link and your listing. Fresha's booking links work only while your marketplace profile is listed, and cancelling the plan unlists the profile at the end of the billing cycle; reviews are hidden, not deleted. Every place the Fresha link lives — Google Business profile, Instagram bio, the Book now button on your website — gets the Bookodile link instead, and Bookodile generates a QR code for print.
  • A Smart Website. Cancelling the add-on unpublishes the site at the end of the period. Bookodile's website is included, built from your booking setup, at yourname.bookodile.com or on a domain you already own.
  • Reserve with Google, Facebook and Instagram buttons. These are Fresha integrations tied to the listing; Bookodile has none. Your Google profile can still carry the booking link, and Campaign tracking, an included add-on, gives ready-tagged links for Google, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and counts the bookings each one brings.
  • Payments, deposits and no-show fees. If you take them through Fresha Payments, you will need another way. Bookodile records what you were paid; it does not take it.
  • Text and WhatsApp reminders. Bookodile's reminders are email, and SMS with the SMS messages add-on on a paid plan. SMS reach numbers in 14 countries — not yet Czechia, and not the United States or Canada. There is no WhatsApp.

Where each one fits

Choose Fresha if you want a marketplace sending you customers, card payments, deposits and no-show fees inside the booking, a point of sale with stock and payroll, native apps for your team and your customers, WhatsApp reminders, or a booking page in a language Bookodile does not have.

Choose Bookodile if your customers should book without creating an account with anyone, if you want a booking page that is yours and not a listing, if nothing on your bill should depend on where a customer came from, if you want every feature but SMS — a website too — on a plan that is free, or if your customers read Slovak.

Common questions#

Is Fresha free?#
No. Fresha has two paid plans after a 7-day trial: Independent at €11.95 a month for one bookable team member, and Team at €7.95 per bookable team member a month, on the page served to Slovakia; other countries see other currencies. Fresha's pages do not date when the earlier free plan ended. Bookodile is free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, with every add-on included — SMS aside, which need a paid plan — and stays free as long as that holds.
What is the marketplace new-client fee?#
Fresha's help centre describes it as a one-time fee on the value of a customer's first completed appointment when that customer first discovered you through the Fresha marketplace, with a minimum fee for free or low-value appointments and a maximum cap for higher-value ones. It is charged even if the customer viewed your marketplace profile and then booked through your website or social pages, it is not refunded, and it cannot be opted out of while your profile is listed. The article sends you to the pricing page for the rate and the minimum; the pricing page served to Slovakia labels the fee 'Free'. Returning customers are never charged. Bookodile has no fee of this kind.
Can I move my customers from Fresha to Bookodile?#
Fresha exports your customer list to Excel or CSV if your role allows it, and appointments to PDF, CSV or Excel. Card details cannot be exported. Bookodile does not yet import a file; customers are created the first time they book, so the list rebuilds as regulars return, and your team can add anyone by hand.
Does Bookodile take card payments, deposits or no-show fees like Fresha?#
No. Bookodile does not process payments, take deposits or hold a card. Fresha does all three through Fresha Payments, in the countries where it offers it. With Bookodile, payment stays between you and your customer however you handle it now, and the payment-tracking add-on records what arrived.
Which languages can my customers book in?#
Fresha's consumer site and booking pages come in 33 languages, including Czech, German and Vietnamese, but not Slovak. Bookodile's booking page comes in 17 languages, Slovak among them: each location has a main language and can add up to seven more, which customers switch between on the page, separately from the language you read your dashboard in. Its wording in the 13 beyond English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese was written by AI and has not yet been read by a native speaker.

How these comparisons are made

Every claim about another product comes from that product's own published pages and carries the date it was checked. Nothing is inferred from silence, no price is estimated, and no review is repeated as fact. If a line here is out of date, write to support@bookodile.com and it will be fixed.
