Comparison

Bookodile vs Treatwell

Treatwell is a consumer booking marketplace in 13 European countries with its own software, Treatwell Connect, funded by a commission on each new customer's first booking. Bookodile has no marketplace and no commission: one subscription, every feature, with only SMS billed by use, and a booking page in 17 languages, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese among them.

Bookodile or Treatwell: what matters most#

Bookodile

Every feature on a free account#

Every account, the free one included, has every feature and every add-on: the website, AI Chat, reminders, reviews, the team leaderboard. Only SMS need a paid plan, because each one is billed.

Treatwell

Discount codes, automatic waiting lists, newsletters and segmentation come only with Treatwell Expert, from £59 a month.

Bookodile

A website you build with AI — on your own domain, free#

Tell AI Chat what you want and it builds your website with you. The first draft comes in moments, made from your services, prices, team, hours and reviews, in a design you choose. Then just say what to change: “make it feel warmer”, “bring over the words from my old site”, “rewrite our About text”. Photo galleries sort into categories you name, and a category linked to a service gets its own Book button. Prices and opening hours stay in step with your bookings. Your own domain connects at no cost, and nothing goes public until you publish.

Treatwell

A partner site made from your Treatwell profile, with themes as the only customisation, required 'Powered by Treatwell' branding, no links to your own site, and your own domain only 'if we agree'.

Bookodile

AI Chat — an AI assistant that helps with everything you need#

Ask in your own words, typed or spoken, and AI Chat does the work. It sets up services, prices, the team and opening hours. It writes your bios and service descriptions and builds your website. It blocks out a holiday and hands those bookings to a colleague, moves bookings, and tells you what tomorrow holds and who changed what. Every change comes with Undo, in every account, the free one included.

Treatwell

AI Receptionist, from £69 a month, answers callers and books, moves and cancels for them; nothing changes your account when you ask.

Bookodile

No commission, ever#

No cut of your bookings, no fee for a new customer, no charge per booking. Your bill is the subscription, plus any SMS you send, capped each month.

Treatwell

35% (25% in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Greece) plus VAT on a new marketplace customer's first booking, charged even when you cancel it.

These are only the main ones. See the full comparison, feature by feature

Why businesses switch from Treatwell#

No commission on anyone, ever#

Treatwell takes 35% or 25% of a new marketplace customer's first booking, subject to VAT, and by its own definition a customer of yours who has not visited in 365 days is new again; since 1 April 2025 the commission is charged even when you cancel. Bookodile takes no commission and no new-customer fee. The bill is the subscription, plus any SMS you send with the SMS messages add-on, billed per SMS and capped each month, and your booking page carries only your business, with no competitor shown beside you.

Everything included, with no second product to buy#

Treatwell keeps automatic waiting lists and discount codes on Treatwell Expert, a separate product with its own monthly fee, sells phone answering as an AI Receptionist at another monthly fee, and reserves unlimited team members for the Advanced plan in the UK and Ireland. Bookodile has one plan and no separate products: every account, including a free one, has every feature and every add-on. The one exception is SMS, which need a paid plan and are billed per SMS.

Booking rules you set yourself#

In Connect the venue-wide lead time is 0 minutes and cannot be changed, only a per-service lead time can be set, and no maximum advance, slot interval or approval step is documented. Bookodile gives you minimum notice, maximum advance days, slot interval, auto-confirm or approval, and a cancellation window, as one set of rules per location.

A waiting list that fills the gap for you#

Connect's waiting list is manual: its help centre says clients are not booked automatically when a spot opens and you must email them, and that there is no automated invitation. In Bookodile your team adds customers to the list — they cannot join it from the booking page, where Connect's Book Now widget lets them — and when a booking is cancelled, the time is offered automatically by email to whoever has waited longest for that service, with three hours to confirm; confirming books them straight in.

Rooms and equipment that take bookings on their own, and classes that fill up#

Connect's resources are a quantity attached to a service; a booking on a resource without a person is documented only for Treatwell Pro, which is being decommissioned, and two people attending together are two separate bookings. In Bookodile a service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, with a capacity enforced at booking time, and an event or a recurring class has a capacity and stops when it is full.

Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese, in countries Treatwell does not serve#

Treatwell's 13 country sites are in their local language plus English, with no Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, and Slovakia, Czechia and Vietnam are not on its country list. Bookodile's booking page comes in 17 languages, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese among them, with up to eight per location and a switch for the customer, and every time is shown in the business's own zone.

What each one costs#

Bookodile

A base rate per location plus a rate per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, in country bands. No commission, no per-booking fee, no feature sold separately — only SMS, if you send them, are billed per SMS.

Show prices for
  • One location with three booking spots costs $68 a month.
  • Free at 1 location, up to 2 booking spots and 40 bookings a month — every add-on included; SMS need a paid plan.

Treatwell

Two charges, and the mix depends on the country. The first is a commission on the first booking of each new customer the marketplace sends you: 35% in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 25% in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Greece, and 0% on repeat bookings; the UK page states that 'All commissions and fees are subject to VAT'. 'New' is defined by Treatwell: a customer who is not in your Connect client list, who books with different details, or who has had no successful appointment with you in the last 365 days counts as new again, and since 1 April 2025 the commission is charged even when you are the one who cancels the booking. Online prepayments carry a processing fee of 2.5% in the UK, Ireland and Switzerland and 2% elsewhere. The second charge is a monthly software fee, shown on some country pages and not others: €35 in the Netherlands, €29 in Belgium, €39 or €49 in Germany and Austria, CHF 49 in Switzerland — the German, Austrian and Swiss pages also show a yearly price, and Switzerland a one-off CHF 199 set-up fee for paying monthly — and no figure on the UK, Irish, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese or Greek pages, which say 'Start for free' while the UK FAQ on the same page refers to 'your monthly fee'. Italy, Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum contract; the UK terms give either side 30 days' notice. Two more products sit beside Connect: Treatwell Expert, its software with the marketplace as an optional connection, from £59 a month after a 14-day free trial; and an AI Receptionist from £69 a month. The UK partner terms add opt-in Premium Phone Support at £4.99 a month. Treatwell Pro, the former Uala software, is being decommissioned and its users moved onto Connect.

Pricing#

A free plan that stays free#

Not a trial: a plan a small business can stay on.

Bookodile

Yes

Free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, with every feature and add-on — SMS aside, which need a paid plan. Not a trial — a plan a small business stays on. A paid plan starts with 14 days free rather than a charge. More

Treatwell

Not published

Every country page says 'Start for free' and the UK and Irish pages show no monthly price, but the UK FAQ on the same page refers to 'your monthly fee' and the partner terms say fees become due at the end of any free trial. No free-forever limits are published anywhere.

No commission on bookings#

No cut of a booking, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge.

Bookodile

Yes

No commission, no new-client fee, no per-booking charge. The bill is the subscription, plus any SMS you send with the SMS messages add-on, billed per SMS and capped each month. More

Treatwell

No

35% of the booking value (UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland) or 25% (Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Greece), subject to VAT, on the first booking of a 'new' marketplace customer — one not in your client list, booked with different details, or with no successful appointment in the last 365 days. 0% on repeat bookings and none on bookings through your own widget or Book Now link. Since 1 April 2025 the commission is charged even when the business cancels. Source

Every feature included#

Nothing sold separately — text bundles, marketing, forms, a branded app, extra locations.

Bookodile

Partly

Every feature and add-on is included — reminders, reviews, vouchers, the waiting list, forecasting, Messages, AI Chat and the website with your own domain. The one thing billed by use is SMS: the SMS messages add-on is free, and each SMS is billed monthly with a paid plan at a price per country, never more a month than a cap that starts at the plan's own price. Each location is billed at a base rate. More

Treatwell

No

The AI Receptionist is from £69 a month; Treatwell Expert is a separate product from £59 a month; opt-in Premium Phone Support is £4.99 a month in the UK partner terms; a professional photoshoot is €99 in the Netherlands and Belgium; Advanced in Germany and Austria adds a €7.50 monthly TSE fee (€90 on the yearly plan); Switzerland adds a one-off CHF 199 set-up fee when paying monthly; the card machine is £199 or €199; rebook reminders by text need credits. Source

The same features on every plan#

No capability reserved for a higher tier.

Bookodile

Partly

One plan, with free limits: every account, including a free one, has every feature and add-on. The one exception is SMS, which need a paid plan, because each one is billed on its invoice. More

Treatwell

No

Advanced adds 'Unlimited staff members' over Freelancer in the UK and Ireland, and a digital point of sale over Starter in Germany and Austria. Discount codes, automatic waiting lists, newsletter campaigns and customer segmentation are advertised only on Treatwell Expert. Source

No minimum term or cancellation fee#

Bookodile

Yes

Monthly, no minimum term, no cancellation fee. There is no yearly plan. More

Treatwell

Partly

The UK terms let either side end the agreement on 30 days' notice, state that fees and commission are non-refundable, and give 30 days' notice of fee changes. The Italian, Spanish and Portuguese pricing FAQs state a 12-month minimum contract — the Italian one 'regardless of monthly or annual payment'. The German, Austrian and Swiss FAQs offer a choice of monthly or yearly contracts, the monthly one cancellable each month and the yearly one cheaper; the Dutch and Belgian FAQs offer monthly payment or a cheaper yearly subscription. Closing a Connect account is done by an owner opening a chat with support after settling the balance. Source

Processes your customers' card payments#

Takes the customer's money at booking or at the till.

Bookodile

No

Bookodile does not take your customers' money. The payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid; payment stays between you and the customer. More

Treatwell

Yes

Treatwell Pay, 'Powered by Stripe': online prepayment at 2.5% (UK, Ireland, Switzerland) or 2% elsewhere, in-person card payments at 1.1% + 20p in the UK, 0.89% + €0.10 in Ireland and 0.99% + €0.10 in the Netherlands, a £199 or €199 card machine, Tap to Pay on the phone, and payouts daily, weekly or every two weeks at no charge. Taking bookings#

A hosted booking page#

Bookodile

Yes

bookodile.com/your-business, with your logo, colour, services — each with its photo, when you add one — and hours. One page per location. More

Treatwell

Yes

A venue page on the marketplace plus a 'Book Now' link to a booking flow, and for a business with no website of its own 'a free customised partner site with a built-in embedded widget'. Source

Booking on your own website#

An embedded widget or button, not just a link.

Bookodile

Yes

One snippet embeds the whole flow in any site — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or hand-built — inline or behind a Book-now button in your brand colour. A QR code is generated for print. More

Treatwell

Yes

An 'Embedded Widget' HTML snippet that shows the full menu in the page, with WordPress and Wix guides, plus Book Now buttons. Bookings made through the widget or a Book Now link carry no marketplace commission. Source

Customers book without an account or an app#

Bookodile

Yes

The customer gives only the details you require — a name, and an email, a phone number or both. No account, no app, no password. My Bookings, a web page they sign in to with an emailed code or Google, shows every booking they hold, if they want it. More

Treatwell

Yes

A customer can book as a guest. A guest booking does not appear in a Treatwell account and is cancelled or rescheduled from the links in the confirmation email. Guests reach support through a form rather than chat. Source

Several services in one booking#

Bookodile

Partly

Combo services chain stages into one booking, and the extras you configure are offered during booking, in more than one round. Customers do not pick arbitrary pairs from the catalogue — you decide which combinations exist. More

Treatwell

Yes

Packages combine several services into one booking at a price you set, in an order you drag into place. A customer who books two services under one name gets them one after the other. Source

Back-to-back services with different team members#

Each person is blocked only for their own part, not for the whole visit.

Bookodile

Yes

Each stage of a combo can have its own team member, its own duration and its own room, booked back to back. Each person is blocked only for their own stage, never for the whole visit. Staff move the whole visit in one step, with the times that fit every person in it shown first. More

Treatwell

Yes

'Allow multi-employee bookings', on by default in Connect, splits one booking across team members so that each service sits in the column of the person doing it, 'to allow you to accept as many bookings as possible'. Packages 'can mix services performed by different people' and appear in the calendar in the order set. A business that wants one person per visit unticks the setting. Source

Rooms, chairs and equipment as bookable resources#

With a capacity, and bookable without a person.

Bookodile

Yes

Rooms, chairs and equipment with a capacity and their own hours. A service can need a resource alone, a person alone, or both, and capacity is enforced when the booking is made. A service linked to several takes whichever one is free; a booking never holds two at once. Each one is open to anyone who does its services, or kept for named people when it belongs to them — three juniors share a chair while the master has his own. More

Treatwell

Partly

Connect 'Resources' carry a quantity — the article's example is four of one item shared by eight team members — and are linked to services; a service that needs two resources needs both free. A booking on a resource with no person is documented only for Treatwell Pro's 'Rooms', and Pro is being decommissioned. Source

Classes and events with a capacity#

Bookodile

Yes

Events with a capacity and a registration list for one-off things; a recurring class is a service on a resource with a capacity, so it fills up and stops. More

Treatwell

No

A booking is for one person. The consumer help centre says two people attending together need 'two separate bookings under the names of each person attending'. No class, event or capacity feature is documented for Connect; Treatwell Pro's capacity-based 'Rooms' are Pro only. Source

A different price per team member#

Bookodile

Yes

A service can be priced per team member, or per category such as Junior and Senior. The customer sees each person's price as they choose who, and the category's name too if you show it. More

Treatwell

Yes

'Pricing levels': named levels with team members assigned to each, and per service a 'Use staff pricing levels' tick with a price per level. Not available inside packages. Source

A different duration per team member#

Bookodile

Yes

A service can take a different time per team member. Leave someone blank and they use the service's own duration. More

Treatwell

Partly

The same pricing-levels screen lets you 'specify the duration and price of the service based on each level' — a duration per level, which is a group of team members, not per individual. Processing time applies to every level alike. Source

Buffer time that blocks the calendar#

Bookodile

Yes

Each service can have its own buffer after it, up to 120 minutes, which blocks the person and any resource it used. Enforced on the booking page and in the booking API. More

Treatwell

Yes

Per service, 'Use processing time' splits the duration into application, processing and finishing time, with the team member free during processing, and a separate clean-up time drop-down blocks the calendar after the service. Source

A waiting list with automatic offers#

A cancellation is offered to whoever is waiting, without you doing anything.

Bookodile

Yes

Your team adds customers to the list; they cannot join it from the booking page. When a booking is cancelled, the time is offered automatically by email to whoever has waited longest for that service, with three hours to confirm — or until the time starts, if sooner — and confirming books them straight in. If nobody confirms, it goes to the next person waiting for that service within about ten minutes, as long as the time is still ahead and still free. More

Treatwell

Partly

A manual list: 'clients are not automatically booked when a spot opens up — you must email them', and 'there is no automated invitation email feature'. Entries come from the Book Now widget, not the marketplace, up to 100 per location per day. 'Automatic waiting lists' are advertised on Treatwell Expert only. Source

Recurring bookings#

Bookodile

Partly

Your team can repeat a booking of one service from the calendar — weekly, every two weeks or monthly, up to 52 visits — and cancel one visit or the whole series. A combo or a booking with add-ons cannot be repeated. Customers cannot book a recurring appointment themselves. More

Treatwell

Yes

A 'Repeat' button on an appointment sets a frequency and an end. Edits apply to one occurrence at a time, and 'Recurring appointments can only be paid for at the venue'. Source

Booking rules#

Minimum notice, how far ahead, approval, cancellation window, slot spacing.

Bookodile

Yes

Minimum notice (up to 72 hours), how far ahead (up to 365 days), start times every 5 to 60 minutes, auto-confirm or your approval, and a cancellation window (up to 168 hours) with late cancellation allowed or not — one set of rules per location. More

Treatwell

Partly

The venue-wide lead time is 0 minutes and 'not possible to change'; a lead time can be set per service. Cancellation policy of 0, 2, 24, 48 or 72 hours. No maximum-advance, slot-interval or approval setting is documented. Source

Customers cancel or reschedule themselves#

Bookodile

Yes

Customers reschedule or cancel themselves from the link in their confirmation and reminder emails, or in My Bookings, outside your cancellation window, and can tell you why. A reschedule moves the whole visit in one step to a free time with the same team members and price, and the customer's calendar event moves with it. Inside the window they cannot reschedule online, and can cancel only if you allow late cancellations, once they accept they may be charged. More

Treatwell

Yes

Customers cancel or reschedule in the app, in their web account, or from the confirmation-email links as guests, within the venue's policy; the business is notified. A discounted booking is rescheduled through the business. Source

Deposits and no-show protection#

Bookodile

No

No card on file and no deposits, because Bookodile does not process payments. A no-show is marked on the booking and counted on the customer's record, never charged. You can let customers cancel late once they accept you may charge them; collecting it is up to you. More

Treatwell

Partly

Full prepayment online, and 'Cancellation Protection', which stores a card for pay-at-venue marketplace bookings and lets you charge a booking marked as a no-show. It is switched on by asking support, applies to marketplace bookings only, and cannot be combined with prepaid-only. A partial deposit is not documented. Source

Extras offered while booking#

Bookodile

Yes

Extras are offered while booking, per service or per category, in up to several rounds, with an optional discount for adding them. A service can be offered only as an extra, off the list of services. More

Treatwell

Partly

Products and vouchers are sold at checkout in person, and a package or a 'featured service' can be put on the menu. No step that offers extras during online booking is documented for Connect. Source

What customers see#

A website for your business#

More than a booking page: pages for your services, team and story, made for you, on a domain of your own.

Bookodile

Yes

Included in every account, the free one too. Built from your booking setup — services, prices, team, hours and reviews stay in step with it — with templates (switching one keeps every page, or takes a template whole with its texts rewritten for your business from your setup), one page or several in any of them, your own look, extra pages, languages, your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube as icons in the footer, and a photo gallery in categories you name — a category linked to a service opens its photos with that service's price and a Book button — photos made or enhanced with AI, changed by asking in your own words — pointing at any part of it on the preview — or by hand, typing straight onto the page and moving, copying or changing its sections where you see them, on a computer or a phone, and nothing public until you publish. An old website comes over by asking: its pages rebuilt as sections, with their own words and photos. It starts at yourname.bookodile.com; connect a domain you already own, at no cost, and it moves to www.yourbusiness.com. Every Book button opens your booking page at bookodile.com/your-business — the one under each team member with that person already chosen — and a Website visits report counts who came, from where, and how many booked, without cookies. Running promotions, upcoming events and announcements show on it too, and update themselves as they start and end. No blog, no online shop, and no code of your own. More

Treatwell

Partly

A partner site that Treatwell builds automatically from the Connect profile — venue photo, description, services and prices with the booking widget, the team, a gallery, up to 10 reviews of four stars or more from the last four months, contact details and opening hours — and keeps in sync with Connect, so a price changed in Connect changes on the site. The business switches it on under Marketing and chooses a theme and a web address; changing the theme is the customisation described, and no page describes adding pages or text beyond the profile. Treatwell's UK partner terms host it at a subdomain of mytreatwell.co.uk or, if Treatwell agrees, on the business's own domain, branded 'Powered by Treatwell' and with no links to the business's own website or other platforms. No Treatwell page states a price for it. Source

Makes and improves your photos with AI#

Inside the product: make a picture for your website or profile from a description, or improve one you took — its light, its background, what is in it. Stock photos, ordinary filters, a background remover alone, or AI images only for social posts are partly.

Bookodile

Yes

Included in every account, the free one too, up to 30 photos a month per account, each try counted. Take a photo on your phone and Enhance it, a team member's or a service's too: in your own words in any language, with ideas for your kind of business, by picking a look from pictures, or by putting a person or finished work into a photo of your own place, with before and after to compare. Create a photo from a description for a place on your website that has none — the top of a page, a service's cover, a card, or your gallery — in your own photo style. Then say what should change, like "remove the hand" or "clear the background", and it edits that photo, keeping every version. AI Chat can make several at once. You choose each one, and nothing is public until you publish. It works on your website's photos: it will not make a person's face, your team's portraits or the outside of your place, because customers should see the real ones. More

Treatwell

Partly

Connect lets a business upload venue photos, drag them into order and 'crop them if needed'; no tool that makes or improves a picture is described. Treatwell's photo guidance lists 'AI-generated or 3D-rendered images' and filters among what to avoid on a venue profile. A professional photoshoot, booked through Treatwell, is offered in select cities. Source

Listed in a consumer marketplace#

A directory where customers find you — and your competitors beside you.

Bookodile

No

No marketplace. Your booking page carries only your business, and no competitor is shown beside you — which also means it sends you no new customers.

Treatwell

Yes

The core of the product: a venue page on each country's Treatwell site and in the consumer app, with the claim that 'Half a million customers search for appointments on Treatwell every single day'. The listing comes with Connect — the pricing FAQ calls Treatwell 'your exclusive partner' and says it does not sync with other management systems. Treatwell Expert offers an 'Optional Treatwell Marketplace connection'. Source

An app for customers#

Bookodile

No

No consumer app to download. Customers book in the browser. My Bookings, a web page they sign in to with an emailed code or Google, lists every booking they hold with any Bookodile business; there they cancel, keep their details up to date and can turn off a business's SMS. More

Treatwell

Yes

A consumer app on iOS and Android, booking from inside Apple Maps through an App Clip, and Treatwell Rewards loyalty points collected in the app. Source

Booking page languages#

What your customers read.

Bookodile

Yes

The booking page, the embedded widget and every email about a booking come in 17 languages: English, Slovak, Czech, Vietnamese, German, Hungarian, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Romanian, Croatian, Slovenian and Chinese. Each location has a main language — English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — and can add up to seven more, from the same list as its website. With more than one, the booking page shows a language switch and opens in the customer's own language when the location offers it (from the link, their last choice or their browser), otherwise in the main one. Every email and SMS about a booking goes out in the language it was made in; SMS in Ukrainian or Chinese go out in English, because they would not fit one SMS, while their emails and booking page stay in that language. Service names, descriptions, team bios and the location's other texts are translated automatically by AI, and the owner can correct any translation; names are never translated. The booking page's own wording in the 13 languages beyond English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese was written by AI and has not yet been read by a native speaker. What your customers read and what you read in the dashboard are separate settings. More

Treatwell

Partly

Each of the 13 country sites is in its local language, with English added on every market and service menus not yet translated. No Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese customer-facing language. The Connect dashboard is offered in over fifteen languages; a language setting for the widget is not documented. Source

Your business's time zone, shown correctly#

Bookodile

Yes

Every time is shown in the business's own zone, including on your dashboard. A customer in another zone sees both clocks before they confirm. Locations in different zones each keep their own; the group's combined monthly totals count on one clock. Each location writes its times on a 24-hour or a 12-hour clock (2:30 PM) — its country's until you pick one — on the booking page, in emails and SMS, on the website and in the dashboard alike. More

Treatwell

Not published

No help article or partner page mentions time zones. Each marketplace covers one country.

Branding#

Logo, colour, custom CSS, custom domain.

Bookodile

Partly

Your own domain, at no cost: connect one you already own and your website moves to www.yourbusiness.com (the website row). The booking page its Book buttons open stays at bookodile.com/your-business, and the widget puts the same booking inside any other site you run, on that site's domain. Your logo, a second logo for dark backgrounds, a logo that links back to your own website, your brand colour with a contrast check, and announcements along the top of your booking page and your website. No custom CSS. More

Treatwell

Partly

Photos, team portfolios, a description and a 'Top Rated' badge on the marketplace page; the embedded widget or a Book Now link on your own site; a free partner site. No logo, colour, CSS or custom-domain control for the widget is documented. Source

Book buttons on Google, Instagram and Facebook#

Bookodile

No

No Reserve with Google or Instagram integration. Your booking link, bookodile.com/your-business, goes in your Google profile, your bio or a post like any link. Campaign tracking, an included add-on, gives ready-tagged links for Google, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and counts the bookings each one brings.

Found on Google under your own name#

Your booking page or profile is listed for search engines, so someone searching for your business finds it.

Bookodile

Yes

On from the start, once an automatic check of the business name passes — normally within minutes: your booking page is in the sitemap search engines read, under your business's name, with your own description and address as the snippet, and Bing and others are told when it changes. A published website is listed the same way at its own address, from its first online booking or two weeks after publishing. One switch keeps both out. Search engines still decide what to show and when. More

Treatwell

Yes

The partner site is indexed on Google by Treatwell — 'we handle this for you automatically' — and Treatwell says it optimises the site for search engines; for Bing the business submits the address itself. The site goes online only once a domain name is saved. Source

Running the business#

An AI assistant that sets up and runs your account#

Ask in your own words and it explains, sets things up and moves bookings. AI that only answers your customers, only writes copy or only answers support questions is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

AI Chat, in every account including the free one, with a daily allowance per account. Ask in English, Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese, typed or spoken: it answers how-to questions from this documentation and your own settings, explains why a day has no free times and who changed what; sets up team, services, prices, hours, rooms, booking rules, add-ons, logo and brand colour, and the order of your services and team; writes bios, your about text and service descriptions; builds and changes your website's draft and brings over the words of an old site; and moves, cancels or hands over bookings and blocks time, once or repeating. It shows every change first and waits for you to apply it, with Undo — only texts and the website's draft go in at once, still with Undo, and the website stays private until you publish. It answers you, not your customers, and does not create bookings. More

Treatwell

Partly

The AI Receptionist, sold separately from £69 a month on Treatwell's UK page, answers the business's phone: it books, moves and cancels appointments in the Treatwell calendar, answers common questions from what the business has added, greets a returning customer by name when the number matches, and transfers the call or takes a message; calls are reviewed in Connect. Support inside Connect starts with a chatbot, Connect Chat, that points to answers or articles and hands over to a person. No assistant that sets up or changes the account when the business asks is documented. Source

Calendar#

Day, week and month; drag to move; blockers.

Bookodile

Yes

Day, week and month. Drag a booking to a new time or a different person — the calendar names any clash first, and Undo puts it back for ten seconds after. Block out time for the business, one person or a resource — once, or repeating every day, on chosen weekdays, every two weeks or every month. Add a walk-in; filter by person, service or resource. A visit with several services moves as one — dragged, or from the booking dialog, which shows the times that fit everyone first and still takes any other day and time, listing what it clashes with. More

Treatwell

Yes

Several locations in one account#

Bookodile

Yes

Up to 50 locations in one account — a guard against misuse, raised on request — each with its own team, hours, services and booking page. A new location can start from one you have — its services with prices, hours, booking rules, logo and colours and website — and takes the team members you pick. Customers are one list across them, a team member can work at several with one sign-in, and a group dashboard totals them. The free plan covers one location; each location is billed at a base rate. More

Treatwell

Connect lets a user switch between locations, and one invoice can cover several venues. No pricing page says whether a plan's monthly price covers one venue or several, and no per-location price is published. Source

Roles and permissions#

Custom roles, per-permission control.

Bookodile

Yes

A history of who changed what#

Every change to bookings, customers, services and settings, with who made it and when. A booking's own history alone is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

Activity records changes to bookings, customers, services, resources, the team, time off, blocked time and settings: what changed from what to what, who did it — a team member by name, the customer, or automatic — how and when. Each role sees the history of what it can open, a booking's own history sits in the booking window with what the customer was sent, and it exports to CSV. Kept 24 months, in every account. Not recorded: what a role may do, prices set per team member or category, payment records, billing and add-on records such as vouchers; a note shows as edited, never its words. More

Treatwell

Partly

The Activity Log, behind the bell icon, lists online bookings made, amended, cancelled or rescheduled, each with the time, date, booking type and assigned team member, and needs at least the 'View others' calendars' permission. It is not said to record who made a change, and no log of changes to customers, services or settings is documented. Source

Reports#

Bookodile

Yes

Revenue, bookings, average value and cancellation rate over the last twelve months, charted month by month, with bookings by status, new customers, top services and the team ranked by revenue; per location or across all. A no-show counts as a booking, never as revenue. Website visits shows who came to your website, from where, and how many booked. Forecasting, revenue split, booking sources and payments received are included add-ons. The period is fixed at twelve months. More

A leaderboard for the team#

Team members see where they rank on bookings or sales, with a winner. A report only managers can open is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

A monthly competition on bookings or revenue that the whole team sees, with a winner per category if you want one, results frozen and emailed on the 1st, and a Hall of fame. Revenue amounts stay hidden from the team unless you show them. Up to three at once, per location. An included add-on. More

Point of sale, stock and payroll#

Bookodile

No

No point of sale, no stock, no payroll — a walk-in is a booking. The included payment-tracking add-on records what each visit was paid, by cash, card or transfer, with part-payments and tips shared between the people who did the work, and Revenue split works out each team member's share at the percentage you set, month by month. Confirmations, a reminder the day before at 8:00, two hours before or both — your choice — changes, cancellations and follow-ups by email, all included, in the language the customer booked in. By SMS too with the SMS messages add-on: the add-on is free, and SMS need a paid plan — billed monthly with it, per SMS, capped each month. SMS reach numbers in 14 countries today; Czechia, the US and Canada are coming soon. More

Treatwell

Yes

A text confirmation for Book Now bookings; for bookings added in Connect, an email and a text confirmation 'completely free of charge' and 'free SMS reminders' 24 hours before — none when the booking is made less than 24 hours ahead, and a push notification instead for a customer with the Treatwell app. Email reminders go 24 hours before, none when the booking is made less than 8 hours ahead; the timing is adjustable, and the feature page promises 'unlimited client reminders'. Rebook reminders are free by email; by text they need SMS credits bought in Connect. Source

Messages with one customer, in one inbox#

Write to a customer and read their answer inside the product — not a bulk campaign. One-way only is partly.

Bookodile

Yes

Messages, in every account: write to one customer from the calendar or their page by email, SMS or both, and read their answer in one inbox, with unread ones marked and the team told by email. Email is included; SMS need the SMS messages add-on on a paid plan, billed per SMS — Czech, US and Canadian numbers coming soon. The customer answers on a page the message links to, not by replying to the email or text, and cannot start a conversation. No WhatsApp. More

Email and text campaigns#

Bookodile

Partly

No bulk email or SMS campaigns. Included add-ons instead: a win-back sequence of up to three emails to customers overdue for a visit, judged by their own usual gap, never to anyone with a booking ahead and starting over after their next visit, the later ones with a one-time discount code; promotions and announcements on your booking page and your website, an announcement optionally kept on the booking page for customers who have booked before; and Campaign tracking, which shows which ads and links bring bookings. Bookodile

Discount codes are advertised on Expert only; memberships are not documented for Connect. Source

Google or Outlook calendar sync#

Bookodile

Partly

Bookings are pushed into one Google Calendar per location as they are made, moved or cancelled. One direction only — Google events do not block your availability — not one calendar per team member, and no Outlook sync. Customers can add their own booking to Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar. More

Treatwell

Partly

Intake and consent forms#

Bookodile

Partly

A consent checkbox in your own wording, with a link to your privacy policy — each customer's agreement is recorded with the date and the wording they saw — invoice details that can be optional or required, and a notes field. No custom intake forms or questions, and no e-signatures. More

Treatwell

Yes

Your data: export, import, API#

Bookodile

Partly

Export bookings, customers and the activity log to CSV whenever you like. No import tool yet — customers from another tool are added one at a time or as they book — and no public API. More

Treatwell

Partly

An owner can export the client list — names, phone, email, notes, consent, date of birth and booking count — but it 'will not include: Booking details (e.g., treatment history), Payment information'. Bulk client upload, and a migration import of basic data done by support. The terms allow a download before termination, excluding customer reviews. No public API or webhooks are documented. Source

Support#

Channels and hours; whether onboarding costs extra.

Bookodile

Yes

Email support, included, with the documentation at bookodile.com/docs behind it, and AI Chat in the dashboard, which answers how-to questions from that documentation and from your own settings. A new business is walked through its setup in AI Chat right after signing up — its services, texts and website — at no cost. No phone line, and no chat with a person. More

Treatwell

Partly

'Connect Chat' inside the product: a chatbot first, then an agent or an offline case, with a push notification when someone replies. The terms promise 'industry standard technical support via email'. Phone support is an opt-in extra in the UK partner terms — Premium Phone Support, £4.99 a month, Monday to Friday 10:00–16:00 UK time — and a demo call-back is promised 'within 48 hours'. 'Dedicated customer support' is listed on Treatwell Expert. Source

Where Treatwell is stronger#

Being straight about this is what makes the rest of the page worth reading.

It brings customers you have never met#

Treatwell is a marketplace with a consumer app in 13 countries, and its partner page claims half a million customers search for appointments on it every day. That is what the commission buys. Bookodile has no marketplace and sends you no one; customers find your page through your own website, your Google profile, your social links and the QR code it generates.

It takes the money#

Treatwell Pay handles online prepayment, a card on file with a chargeable no-show for pay-at-venue bookings, Tap to Pay, a card machine and payouts at no charge. Bookodile does not process payments, take deposits or hold a card; its payment-tracking add-on records what you were paid.

Text confirmations and reminders, free#

Connect sends text confirmations for Book Now bookings and free ones for bookings added in Connect, and free text reminders 24 hours before, alongside email. Bookodile's confirmations and reminders are email, and SMS only with its SMS messages add-on on a paid plan, billed per SMS — and those reach numbers in 14 countries, which cover ten of Treatwell's but not Switzerland, Greece or Lithuania.

Native apps and booking buttons everywhere#

A team app on iOS and Android, a consumer app, booking inside Apple Maps, Reserve with Google, and Book Now buttons for Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. Bookodile's dashboard is a web app that installs to a phone's home screen, and it has no Google, Instagram or Facebook integration — the booking link goes in your profile like any link.

Point of sale, stock, forms and payments in one product#

Checkout with receipts, refunds and tips, stock with supplier orders, consultation forms with signatures, and card payments, all inside Connect. Bookodile has no point of sale, no stock, no intake forms beyond a consent checkbox and a notes field, and takes no payments.

A marketplace in each country's language, and a cheaper bill for a large team in some countries#

Each of the 13 country sites is in its local language, plus English. Bookodile's booking page has 17 languages but no Greek or Lithuanian, the languages of two of Treatwell's countries, and its wording beyond English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese was written by AI and has not yet been read by a native speaker. Where Treatwell publishes a monthly fee — the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland — it covers unlimited team members, so a large team that brings its own customers can pay less there than on Bookodile, which bills per booking spot. Compare the two bills with your own numbers.

A receptionist that answers the phone#

Treatwell's AI Receptionist, from £69 a month on its UK page, answers the business's phone, books, moves and cancels appointments in the calendar, answers common questions, and transfers the call or takes a message when a person is needed. Bookodile's AI Chat works for your team instead — it explains Bookodile and sets up and changes your account, showing each change first and waiting for you to apply it, while texts and the website's draft go in at once with Undo — and it does not answer your customers, by phone or otherwise.

A room and a piece of equipment, held together#

In Connect a service can be linked to more than one resource — Treatwell's own example is a room and a piece of equipment — and a booking holds both: the service is bookable only when both are free, and nobody else can book either while it runs. Bookodile cannot do this. A Bookodile service linked to several resources takes whichever one of them is free, and a booking never holds two at once, so a service that needs a room and a particular machine together cannot be set up to wait for both.

Who Treatwell is for

Treatwell is a marketplace first and software second. Customers open one of its thirteen country sites or its app, search for a service near them, and book; the business runs its day in Treatwell Connect, the calendar the marketplace writes into. The two are one product — the pricing FAQ calls Treatwell "your exclusive partner" and says it does not sync with other management systems. The partner site lists eight categories it serves, all of them hair, beauty and wellness treatments, and no fitness, class or coaching vertical. Its own software line-up is in motion: Treatwell Pro, the former Uala product, is being decommissioned onto Connect, and Treatwell Expert, a software-only product with an optional marketplace connection, was published on 25 August 2026.

Bookodile is booking software with no marketplace. A business brings its own customers — through its website, its Google profile, a link in a bio, a QR code at the counter — and pays a subscription with no commission on any of them. It is built for a business where people are priced and timed differently, where a room or a piece of equipment limits what can be taken, and where one visit can involve two people. Treatwell Connect does the last of those too, and the section below says exactly how.

The pricing model, in practice

Treatwell's bill has two parts. The first is the commission: 35% of the booking value in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 25% in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Greece, on the first booking of each new customer the marketplace introduces, and 0% on repeat bookings. The UK page states that all commissions and fees are subject to VAT. The word to read carefully is new. Treatwell's commission article defines a new customer as one who is not in your Connect client list, who books with different details, or who has had no successful appointment with you in the last 365 days — so a regular who drifts away for a year and comes back through the marketplace is charged for again. Since 1 April 2025, its cancellation FAQ says, the commission is charged even when the business is the one that cancels. Bookings through your own embedded widget or Book Now link carry no commission, only the online-prepayment fee of 2.5% or 2% if the customer pays up front.

The second part is the monthly software fee, and whether you can see it depends on the country. The Dutch, Belgian, German, Austrian and Swiss pages print a Starter price with unlimited team members; the UK, Irish, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Greek pages print none and say "Start for free", while the UK FAQ on the same page refers to "your monthly fee". Italy, Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum contract; the UK terms give either side 30 days' notice. Treatwell Expert and the AI Receptionist are priced separately, from £59 and £69 a month.

Bookodile charges per location plus per booking spot that actually took a booking that month, with no commission on anything. People who take no bookings are not counted, and five people sharing one spot are one spot. SMS, sent with the SMS messages add-on, need a paid plan and are billed per SMS, capped each month. The figures for your country are on the pricing page and the model is explained in What Bookodile costs.

Which is cheaper depends on two numbers only you know: how many people take bookings, and how many first-time customers each month arrive through Treatwell rather than through you. A large team in a country with a published Starter fee, bringing its own customers, can pay less on Treatwell. A business whose new customers come from the marketplace pays a share of each of their first visits, for as long as it stays listed.

Two services, two people

Treatwell Connect does this, and does it by default. The help-centre article on the setting is titled "How can I stop appointments from being divided between two team members?", and it explains that a booking with several services may be split so that each service sits in the column of a different team member — the example puts the first stage with a specialist and the later stages with a more junior colleague — and that the split "is calculated to allow you to accept as many bookings as possible". A business that wants one person per visit goes to Settings, then Online booking, and unticks Allow multi-employee bookings. Packages follow the same rule: "Single services can only be assigned to one team member, but packages can mix services performed by different people"; the services are dragged into order and "appear in your calendar in that same sequence", and the package's duration is the sum of its parts. Separately, a service can have a processing stage during which the team member is free for someone else.

What the article does not say in so many words is that the first person is bookable again while the second is working. The per-column placement implies it, and this page does not go further than that.

In Bookodile the same thing is a combo service: one service with one person and a second with another, as stages of one booking. Each stage carries its own team member, its own duration and its own room if it needs one, each person is blocked only for their stage, and the customer books once and gets one confirmation. The difference is not whether it can be done — both products do it — but how it is decided. In Connect the split is applied to any multi-service booking unless you switch it off; in Bookodile you define which combinations exist, and customers book those.

Switching from Treatwell

  • Customers. An account owner exports the client list from Connect: names, phone, email, notes, consent, date of birth and booking count, but not booking history or payment records. Bookodile has no import tool yet; customers are created the first time they book, and your team can add anyone by hand.
  • Bookings. The client export excludes booking details and no separate bookings export is documented. Run the two side by side until the Treatwell calendar empties out, then switch the link.
  • The marketplace listing. It comes with Connect and does not sync with Bookodile, so leaving Connect means the listing no longer has a calendar behind it. Closing the account is done by chat with support after settling the balance; the UK terms give either side 30 days' notice, and Italy, Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum. Treatwell's terms let you download your data before termination, excluding customer reviews.
  • Reviews. Treatwell's verified reviews stay on Treatwell. Bookodile collects its own after each visit, from zero, and publishes them on your booking page and your website when you choose.
  • Your booking link. Every place the old Book Now link lives — Google Business profile, Instagram bio, Facebook page, your website — gets the new one. Bookodile generates a QR code for the counter.
  • Reserve with Google, Apple Maps and the social buttons. These are Treatwell integrations; Bookodile has no equivalent. Your Google profile can still carry the booking link as its website or appointment link, and Campaign tracking, an included add-on, gives ready-tagged links for Google, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and counts the bookings each one brings.
  • Payments. If you take prepayment, use Cancellation Protection or run the card machine through Treatwell Pay, you will need a separate way to do that. Bookodile records payments; it does not take them.
  • Text messages. Connect's text confirmations and reminders do not carry over. Bookodile's are email, in your business's language, and SMS with the SMS messages add-on on a paid plan. SMS reach numbers in 14 countries, which cover ten of Treatwell's but not Switzerland, Greece or Lithuania.

Where each one fits

Choose Treatwell if customers finding you on a marketplace is worth a share of each one's first booking, if you want prepayment, no-show protection and a card machine inside the same product, if you want free text reminders, or if your customers read Greek or Lithuanian.

Choose Bookodile if you already have your customers and want no commission on any of them, if you want one subscription with every feature, only SMS billed by use, and no second product to buy, if a room or a piece of equipment limits what you can take or you run classes with a capacity, if you need booking rules such as a maximum advance or an approval step, or if your customers read Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese — or your business is in Slovakia, Czechia or Vietnam, where Treatwell does not operate.

Common questions#

Is Treatwell free?#
Every Treatwell pricing page says 'Start for free'. The UK and Irish pages show no monthly price, while the Dutch, Belgian, German, Austrian and Swiss pages show a monthly Starter fee, and the UK FAQ refers to 'your monthly fee'. Whichever applies, a new marketplace customer's first booking carries a commission of 35% or 25% depending on the country. Bookodile is free at one location with up to two active booking spots and 40 bookings a month, every add-on included — SMS aside, which need a paid plan — and takes no commission at any size.
Can I move my customers from Treatwell to Bookodile?#
A Treatwell account owner can export the client list — names, phone, email, notes, consent, date of birth and booking count — but not booking history or payment records. Bookodile does not yet import a file. Customers are created automatically the first time they book, so the list rebuilds itself as regulars return, and your team can add anyone by hand in the meantime.
Does Bookodile take payments like Treatwell Pay?#
No. Bookodile does not process payments, take prepayment or deposits, or hold a card on file. Payment stays between you and your customer, however you already handle it, and the payment-tracking add-on records what arrived.
What happens to my Treatwell listing and my Google Book button?#
The marketplace listing and Connect are one product; Treatwell's pricing FAQ says it does not sync with other management systems, and its two-way calendar sync is documented for three named products, none of which is Bookodile. So a Treatwell listing cannot share a calendar with a Bookodile account. Closing a Connect account is done by chat with support after settling the balance; the UK terms give either side 30 days' notice, and Italy, Spain and Portugal state a 12-month minimum. Reserve with Google is a Treatwell integration; with Bookodile, your Google profile carries the booking link as its website or appointment link.
Which languages can my customers book in?#
Treatwell's 13 country sites are each in the local language, with English on every market and service menus not yet translated. There is no Slovak, Czech or Vietnamese. Bookodile's booking page comes in 17 languages, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese among them but not Greek or Lithuanian: each location has a main language and can add up to seven more, which customers switch between on the page, separately from the language you read your dashboard in. Its wording in the 13 beyond English, Slovak, Czech and Vietnamese was written by AI and has not yet been read by a native speaker.
What does a business with three people pay?#
On Treatwell, where a monthly fee is shown it covers unlimited team members, plus the commission on each new marketplace customer's first booking; in the UK and Ireland no monthly figure is published. On Bookodile, three people each taking bookings in their own spot are three booking spots, which is above the free tier; if two of them share one spot, that is two. The figure for your country is on the pricing page.

How these comparisons are made

Every claim about another product comes from that product's own published pages and carries the date it was checked. Nothing is inferred from silence, no price is estimated, and no review is repeated as fact. If a line here is out of date, write to support@bookodile.com and it will be fixed.
